Worn Out
What is it that you are wearing?
What is it that you have worn out?
Well worn, be well worn, be well with what you are wearing.
Beaten, moulded by fire, rubbed, worn, bent into shape.
Each piece crafted by hand, crafted by my hand, crafted for a craftsman.
Won’t you put it on?
Why won’t you put it on?
For this is no put on!
Why so weighed down?
For I want you to be weighed down by glory.
Yes be weighed down by the weight of my glory.
For my burden is easy.
I put this together for you.
A coat designed to be worn, a coat designed to be worn out.
Why don’t you wear it out, so that you don’t have to be worn out?
For it is right for the king to wear the robes of a king.
You remember it now don’t you?
Let me take you back there.
Let me tell this story again….
….Pinned down, pushed down, held down.
They came after you, there were too many of them.
At first you pushed back, again and again you pushed back.
Yet for each that was pushed away, the threat multiplied. The one pushed back, became two coming against you.
Over and over, over and over, more and more, more and more.
They piled upon you, they held you down with all their might.
Yet still you resisted, for I designed you to take the strain.
Did I not say, “that which would kill the strongest man, just makes you stronger?”
Shock after shock, just gives you more power, just energises you!
So here you are lying on the ground, covered by that which comes against you.
Piles upon piles they lay upon you, they wrestle you to the ground.
And yet there is no retreat, no surrender, for you are stronger than they know.
Yet what was the purpose, what was their intent?
To put the finest suit upon me….
Why do you resist so much?
What is the point of your resistance?
Why appoint yourself as the leader of the resistance?
Is this not my robe?
Is this not designed for purpose, on purpose, for your purpose, for I have purposed it.
You resist your birthright, you resist your purpose, on purpose.
Yet I will not let you go.
Yet I will not let you rest, until you let go.
I am wrestling with you until you receive my blessing.
For I have anointed you, I have appointed you, I am calling your name, I am pointing to you, you are my point!
There I am on the stage, pointing to you, calling your name, broadcasting your name, introducing you to your audience.
For you are my first choice.
For I have given you divine strength that NO HOSTILE POWER can overcome!
This is my super suit.
Why be Clark Kent when I have called you to be Superman?
Galatians 3:27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ into a spiritual union and communion with Christ, the Anointed One, the Messiah have put on (clothed yourselves with) Christ.
Are you not worn out by all your excuses?
Are you not worn out by your complaining?
Are you not weary of the fight?
Why do you kick against the pricks!?
Acts 26:13-18 When on the road at midday, O king, I saw a light from heaven surpassing the brightness of the sun, flashing about me and those who were traveling with me. And when we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice in the Hebrew tongue saying to me, Saul, Saul, why do you continue to persecute Me to harass and trouble and molest Me? It is dangerous and turns out badly for you to keep kicking against the goads to keep offering vain and perilous resistance. And I said, Who are You, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus, Whom you are persecuting. But arise and stand upon your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, that I might appoint you to serve as My minister and to bear witness both to what you have seen of Me and to that in which I will appear to you, Choosing you out selecting you for Myself anddelivering you from among this Jewish people and the Gentiles to whom I am sending you— To open their eyes that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may thus receive forgiveness and release from their sins and a place and portion among those who are consecrated and purified by faith in Me.
You’d rather be Saul than Paul.
Yes you’d rather be absent than present.
You would rather contend than be content.
What is your point?
Are you not my point?
Zechariah 9:12-13 Return to the stronghold of security and prosperity, you prisoners of hope; even today do I declare that I will restore double your former prosperity to you. For I have bent Judah for Myself as My bow, filled the bow with Ephraim as My arrow, and will stir up your sons, O Zion, against your sons, O Greece, and will make you as the sword of a mighty man.
If you show up will I not make my point?
For your presence declares my point, reveals my point?
You see it now don’t you?
You remember it now don’t you?
For there is precedence for this?
For in the hand, the sword, the attack, the defence, the resistance, the melding of the sword in the hand.
2 Samuel 23:10 Eleazar arose and struck down the Philistines until his hand was weary and clung to the sword. The Lord wrought a great deliverance and victory that day; the men returned after him only to take the spoil.
Have I not placed my sword in your hand?
You know how the story goes?
Is this not my command to you?
Psalms 45:3-4 Gird Your sword upon Your thigh, O mighty One, in Your glory and Your majesty! And in Your majesty ride on triumphantly for the cause of truth, humility, and righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God); and let Your right hand guide You to tremendous things.
Stop trying to be the pauper, when I have called you to be the prince!
Put on my garment of praise, as an antidote for your heaviness.
Receive only my weight of glory.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 Therefore we do not become discouraged (utterly spiritless, exhausted, and wearied out through fear). Though our outer man is progressively decaying and wasting away, yet our inner self is being progressively renewed day after day. For our light, momentary affliction (this slight distress of the passing hour) is ever more and more abundantly preparing and producing and achieving for us an everlasting weight of glory beyond all measure, excessively surpassing all comparisons and all calculations, a vast and transcendent glory and blessedness never to cease!, Since we consider and look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting), but the things that are invisible are deathless and everlasting.
