Who do you think you are?
For you boldly and assertively declare – “Who do you think you are?”
You challenge their behaviour, their posture, their action, their inaction, their intent, their very heart.
Well, I want to ask you the same question!?
Is this not a worthy question?
Is this not the most important question?
Is this not the defining question, the moment of definition?
“Who are you, and what are you doing here?” The preacher once said, and along with it the comment, “I’d like to employ you to ask that question over and over again”. The context was of a guard catching the man trespassing on private property.
For I have called you to cross the line, for you give no regard to boundaries, they are immaterial to you, you revel in breaking them, removing them, resetting them.
I wed you to the breaker to reinforce this point. For you shall have breakthrough, you shall define breakthrough, you together are my definition of breakthrough.
When one is “through”, the other stretches the boundary further.
When you are up against it, you know that you will always make it through, you push against it, you climb over it, you walk through it.
But this time is different…
“I give it all over to you, your love is like an arrow straight and true.”
You wrestle with yourself, you fight with yourself, you restrain yourself, you re strain yourself, you bind yourself, for you are so tired of it all.
“I give it all over to you”
Yet the question still remains – who do you think you are?
I am not who I was, I am not yet who I want to be, I am torn between, I am torn asunder…
Well let me tell you, let me tell you how it is!
You are chosen!
You are appointed!
You are anointed!
You are the mighty, powerful, undefeated one!
You have been chosen on purpose, for purpose, to deliver my purpose, for a great purpose, for a public showing, a giant spectacle, a moment of triumph, a triumphant moment, a defining moment, a history making moment!
For I am not slack concerning my promise, I am not sitting on my hands, I am not wringing my hands wondering what to do!
Yet I love to pick up the slack.
“I lay it all at your feet”
Give me your slack, for I want you to be slack, it is time for you to rest.
I know you like to walk upon the water, but this time I just want you to float, to rest upon the water, trust me to get you to the other side.
For Moses was delivered into the hand of the enemy, helpless and alone, yet carried by my hand.
For when you are in my hand, it makes no difference where you find yourself.
For my hand is upon you….
For my hand is upon you…
For my hand is upon you…
No-one can pluck you from my hand.
Wherever you find yourself I am here with you.
In a moment, in an instant freedom is here.
In the lions den, in the fiery furnace, in the prison cell it makes no difference to me.
For you are my beloved, that is who you are!
For you know how this story ends…
Acts 12:6-11 The very night before Herod was about to bring him forth, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, fastened with two chains, and sentries before the door were guarding the prison. And suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared standing beside him, and a light shone in the place where he was. And the angel gently smote Peter on the side and awakened him, saying, Get up quickly! And the chains fell off his hands. And the angel said to him, Tighten your belt and bind on your sandals. And he did so. And he said to him, Wrap your outer garment around you and follow me. And Peter went out along following him, and he was not conscious that what was apparently being done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. When they had passed through the first guard and the second, they came to the iron gate which leads into the city. Of its own accord the gate swung open, and they went out and passed on through one street; and at once the angel left him. Then Peter came to himself and said, Now I really know and am sure that the Lord has sent His angel and delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting to do to me.
And you came to yourself.
And you came to yourself.
And you visited yourself.
And you met yourself.
And you became yourself.
Say to yourself “Now I really know and am sure”
Say to yourself “The Lord has delivered me from my expectations”
Repeat this to yourself “My beloved is mine, and I am his, and his banner over me is love”
