What will you choose?

What will you choose?

Deuteronomy 30:19-20 I call heaven and earth to witness this day against you that I have set before you life and death, the blessings and the curses; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live And may love the Lord your God, obey His voice, and cling to Him. For He is your life and the length of your days, that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to give to your fathers….

Make a choice! What will it be? Be convinced. Be convicted. Have the courage of your convictions.

I have set before you life. Why would you choose anything else?

If I am for you, who can be against you? Only yourself, your choices. Why be against yourself?

Romans 8:31-32 What then shall we say to [all] this? If God is for us, who [can be] against us? [Who can be our foe, if God is on our side?] He who did not withhold or spare [even] His own Son but gave Him up for us all, will He not also with Him freely and graciously give us all [other] things?

I love you, love yourself with my love. I declare that you are worthy, not for my sake but yours. Is this not the voice of prophecy, my voice? If I have declared your worth, then who are you to argue!

Luke 15:21-23 And the son said to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son [I no longer deserve to be recognized as a son of yours]! But the father said to his bond servants, Bring quickly the best robe (the festive robe of honor) and put it on him; and give him a ring for his hand and sandals for his feet. And bring out that [wheat-]fattened calf and kill it; and let us revel and feast and be happy and make merry,

Why do you kick against the goads, the pricks, stand against me? Stand with me.

Acts 9:4-6 And he fell to the ground. Then he heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me [harassing, troubling, and molesting Me]? And Saul said, Who are You, Lord? And He said, I am Jesus, Whom you are persecuting. It is dangerous and it will turn out badly for you to keep kicking against the goad [to offer vain and perilous resistance]. Trembling and astonished he asked, Lord, what do You desire me to do? The Lord said to him, But arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.

Walk with me, come with me, come away with me, come this way with me. For I am the way the truth and the life. I am your life, I am your best life! Become like me and be the best version of yourself, for you are made in my image, my reflection. You are best when you reflect me.

If I am joyful, kind, gentle, peaceful, generous, patient, rest, the real question is why are you downcast oh my soul? For I am not sitting here wringing my hands, struggling with your choices.

I died once and for all, took all the bad stuff and wrapped it up in the bandages and placed it in the tomb. I died for the sins of the past and for the sins of the future. If you make a bad choice I have already forgiven you!

Romans 8:33-34 Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect [when it is] God Who justifies [that is, Who puts us in right relation to Himself? Who shall come forward and accuse or impeach those whom God has chosen? Will God, Who acquits us?] Who is there to condemn [us]? Will Christ Jesus (the Messiah), Who died, or rather Who was raised from the dead, Who is at the right hand of God actually pleading as He intercedes for us?

So embrace my joy, reflect my joy, be at rest. When I see an image of you, I see peace and joy, I see power and impact. I do not see you curled up in the fetal position. I see no fear, I see triumph. When you speak I hear my words, I see your ravishing face.

If I have loved you with all my heart, my life, my strength and sacrificed my glory for you, why are you so sad, so mad, so downcast, so grumpy, so straining against the goads?

Let go, be loosed, be free, come forth, rise up. Have impact. Potential be released.

Be whole, not broken, be gathered not scattered.

When your back is against the wall, you are facing the wrong direction! For I have said there is no wall, that you can scale any wall. Make a choice.

Psalms 18:28-30 For You cause my lamp to be lighted and to shine; the Lord my God illumines my darkness. For by You I can run through a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall. As for God, His way is perfect! The word of the Lord is tested and tried; He is a shield to all those who take refuge and put their trust in Him.

Turn your face to me, look me in the eye, trust me.

Choose me!

Romans 8:37 Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
