What is Your Story?

What’s your story?

Why are you downcast oh my soul? Yet will I praise Him for all that He has done!

Mustard seed becomes the largest tree.

This is your story.

The small becomes large.

The balloon bursts. The confinement breaks. The stretch is broken. Can stretch no more. Is beyond limitations. Beyond the limit, over the line. Beyond the perimeter. Expand without limit.

This is about what you contain.

It must burst forth without limit.

No more stretching, for this stretch is broken.

The path is broken, cracked, brokenness all around. It is the path of breakthrough.

Joel 2:8 Neither does one thrust upon another; they walk every one in his path. And they burst through and upon the weapons, yet they are not wounded and do not change their course.

Walk on the sling stones that have missed their mark. Step on the smooth stone.

The seed pod is broken. Can’t you see that the pod that contained the seed is broken. I’ve spilled the contents all around. Strewn all over that which is broken. Laid out for all to see.

Psalms 97:11 Light is sown for the [uncompromisingly] righteous and strewn along their pathway, and joy for the upright in heart [the irrepressible joy which comes from consciousness of His favor and protection]. But then bursting forth all around it is Growth! Isaiah 45:8 Let fall in showers, you heavens, from above, and let the skies rain down righteousness [the pure, spiritual, heaven-born possibilities that have their foundation in the holy being of God]; let the earth open, and let them [skies and earth] sprout forth salvation, and let righteousness germinate and spring up [as plants do] together; I the Lord have created it.

When you have given up all hope, the seed broken, the contents fade into the background. To the back of the ground. Buried in the ground. Watch for the new thing to sprout forth. Sprout forth.

Job 14:7-9 For there is hope for a tree if it is cut down, that it will sprout again and that the tender shoots of it will not cease. Though its roots grow old in the earth and its stock dies in the ground, Yet through the scent [and breathing] of water [the stump of the tree] will bud and bring forth boughs like a young plant.

The new from the old. For the former things have passed away, all things are made new.

It is in my nature to bring forth the large from the small. The tall from the tiny. That which grows from that which shows no sign of growth.

What you have seen is but the seed, wait for the plant, that which takes root. You shall stare in amazement at that which grows.

Zechariah 8:11-13 But now [in this period since you began to build] I am not to the remnant of this people as in the former days, says the Lord of hosts. For there shall the seed produce peace and prosperity; the vine shall yield her fruit and the ground shall give its increase and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to inherit and possess all these things. And as you have been a curse and a byword among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so will I save you, and you shall be a blessing. Fear not, but let your hands be strong and hardened.

My seed waits for the appointed time. Take up the appointment. You are appointed. This is your appointment.

Isaiah 55:10-13 For as the rain and snow come down from the heavens, and return not there again, but water the earth and make it bring forth and sprout, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. For you shall go out [from the spiritual exile caused by sin and evil into the homeland] with joy and be led forth [by your Leader, the Lord Himself, and His word] with peace; the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree; and it shall be to the Lord for a name of renown, for an everlasting sign [of jubilant exaltation] and memorial [to His praise], which shall not be cut off.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
