Uptight

What is it you seek Lord? What is your question?

Why so uptight? Be up, not tight.

Be not rapt in circumstance, be wrapped in my presence. My presence is your present.

Unwind, be not wound up. Be not wounded, be up!

For I am not tight fisted towards you. My hand is open, presenting my presence.

My hand is closed, my body tightly wrapped, far from a bundle of joy!

But you are my bundle of joy. I’ve wrapped you up tight, secure in my love, held by my arms. Don’t cry, for I have got you, I have hold of you. Hush my child, be at peace.

But I feel so confined, so wrapped up, so tightly wrapped, I cannot breathe. I feel everything so amplified, I hear the sound of a pin drop, like a nail hammered into my head. If it wasn’t for the caress of my love, I would have lost it!

But I have found you….

I know where you are, I have hold of you. You struggle to get free, to break the chains, to make room for yourself, to find freedom, but in my arms you have all that you need.

Hush my child, be still and know, be still and at peace, just relax, be calm.

Psalms 46:10-11 Let be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth! The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our Refuge (our High Tower and Stronghold). Selah pause, and calmly think of that!

Peace be still…

You wrestle with the containment lines, you are bursting to be free…

But have you not heard? Have you not seen?

You are free…..

Selah – pause and think calmly on that.

For him whom the Son has set free is free indeed.

If you are free, then why wrestle for freedom. Why strive to obtain that which you already have?

Realise, come to the realisation, come to your senses. For I have come to your senses. I am paying a visit to your senses.

You sense me, now. You feel it don’t you. Your body shakes in my presence.

You want to tone it down. You want to desaturate me.

You are pale and without colour.

Embrace colour, burst forth with passion, raise your voice, lift up your hands, be vibrant.

Receive a splash of colour.

Like a food fight, full of passion, lustre, enthusiasm, life…

But I don’t like to get dirty. I used to like my mess, but now I crave order amongst the chaos. I must follow my sequence. I hate the interrupted sequence. I must have order! Everything is out of order. Payment in advance. Sale of the unknown, untested. The validation of the invalid, the disabled.

Come into order, align with me, walk with me, take a breath with me, chill with me.

Listen to my forecast….

I am predicting, light rain, followed by bursts of sunshine, bursts of my glory shining across the fields of harvest.

Let go of that which binds you. Take my hand, come away with me, for the winter is past and the springtime has come. The seed shall produce a harvest of abundance.

For I love to go for a walk in the garden. Come with me for a walk amongst the vineyard of growth. A cluster here, a cluster there. Come and walk with me. Be at peace.

Numbers 13:23 And they came to the Valley of Eshcol, and cut down from there a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they carried it on a pole between two of them; they brought also some pomegranates and figs.

Gird up your loins, lift up your feet, pop the cork of celebration, let’s party.

Did you not just see evidence of the unexpected overflow, the bursting forth right in front of you? The look of wonder all around?

The bottle split neatly in half, in the waitresses hand, and in slow motion the water splashed out all over the table. It was not broken on the ground, and everyone looked in wonder as to how this happened.

Look in wonder at what I am doing. I look at you and see the wonder of my hand-work.

Embrace wonder, behold the wonder, the evidence of wonder all around.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
