Under the Surface
Under the Surface
My flow is underneath, under the surface. Walk on the surface.
I’m shaping the flow. Let the ground flow. I’m shaping a wave. I’m crafting the edge. I’m channeling the flow.
Isaiah 41:17-18 The poor and needy are seeking water when there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst. I the Lord will answer them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them. I will open rivers on the bare heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.
Pulling the flow. Like a giant hose over your shoulder. You pull with all your might and a river of abundance flows behind you. It is the stream that flows in the desert. Why the pull? Why the strain?
Take another perspective, another angle.
Look closer. Feel different.
I have placed a fountain of overflow in your hands. It bursts forth and pushes on your shoulder as it gushes over your back and falls behind you. It is my goodness and mercy that overflows behind you and follows you.
Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
Slow the pace and see the flood all around you.
Overflow on the edge.
The waves lap softly upon you. The gentle caress on your aching soul. Lap it up and be refreshed. The drinking water. The fresh water bursts forth from the broken rock, the split rock, the hard rock. Like a geyser it bursts forth and rises high over the heads of my chosen.
It is over your head.
Exodus 17:5-6 And the Lord said to Moses, Pass on before the people, and take with you some of the elders of Israel; and take in your hand the rod with which you smote the river [Nile], and go. Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock at [Mount] Horeb; and you shall strike the rock, and water shall come out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.
