Transcendent

Returning to the cave.

Entering the cave.

The place of darkness.

You just want to be stoned.

Taken out.

Just taken out.

Yet you are in.

Impacted over and over again by the stones of your enemy.

Tired of the fight. Laying there stoned. Out of your mind, out of your body, out of your life itself.

Transcendent, seeking to transcend, to go beyond to come out from that which you are in.

Yet you know how I feel about this, let me explain it to you.

Acts 6:8-15 Now Stephen, full of grace (divine blessing and favor) and power (strength and ability) worked great wonders and signs (miracles) among the people. However, some of those who belonged to the synagogue of the Freedmen (freed Jewish slaves), as it was called, and of the synagogues of the Cyrenians and of the Alexandrians and of those from Cilicia and the province of Asia, arose and undertook to debate and dispute with Stephen. But they were not able to resist the intelligence and the wisdom and the inspiration of the Spirit with which and by Whom he spoke. So they secretly instigated and instructed men to say, We have heard this man speak, using slanderous and abusive and blasphemous language against Moses and God. Thus they incited the people as well as the elders and the scribes, and they came upon Stephen and arrested him and took him before the council (Sanhedrin). And they brought forward false witnesses who asserted, This man never stops making statements against this sacred place and the Law of Moses; For we have heard him say that this Jesus the Nazarene will tear down and destroy this place, and will alter the institutions and usages which Moses transmitted to us. Then all who sat in the council (Sanhedrin), as they gazed intently at Stephen, saw that his face had the appearance of the face of an angel. Acts 7:54-60 Now upon hearing these things, they the Jews were cut to the heart and infuriated, and they ground their teeth against Stephen. But he, full of the Holy Spirit and controlled by Him, gazed into heaven and saw the glory (the splendor and majesty) of God, and Jesus standing at God’s right hand; And he said, Look! I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing at God’s right hand! But they raised a great shout and put their hands over their ears and rushed together upon him. Then they dragged him out of the city and began to stone him, and the witnesses placed their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul. And while they were stoning Stephen, he prayed, Lord Jesus, receive and accept and welcome my spirit! And falling on his knees, he cried out loudly, Lord, fix not this sin upon them lay it not to their charge! And when he had said this, he fell asleepin death.

You did not expect it, it was unexpected.

There you found yourself.

There you found yourself, in a unusual place, in a womens group, the sole male voice in worship. Yet you could not resist a conversation with me. You felt my presence, in our tent of meeting.

I came to you, I came for you, to spend time with you. I just wanted to be close to you.

You talked about what it is like to just be still and know. To place your hand upon your beloved. You said it was just like being teleported to heaven.

Yet I just want you to feel my touch, to know my presence, to be still and know.

There you found yourself.

Trying to be inconspicuous, still trying to be under the radar, to not draw attention to yourself.

Interrupted in the midst, in the midst of a scene, to make a scene.

Would you like me to open the door, as your face is very red?

You did not expect this, you did not see this coming, and did not want to make a big deal of it.

All you could say was “it is just a God thing”

No matter how much you want to cover up, I am making a scene!

You just go with my flow.

Seriously go with my flow.

It is time to break out, it is time to overflow, it is time to go to another level.

BOOM!

Yes that is the word. It makes you smile, you break out with joy every time your son says it. There he was talking about all the goodness, my goodness, and then every now and then he would just pause and say “boom!”.

He could not help himself.

You could see the sparks from his fingers as he raised up his hands and said “Boom!”

He was so excited to testify to what I had done.

Yet I have given you so much more, more and more, more and more power!

Now Stephen, full of grace (divine blessing and favor) and power (strength and ability) worked great wonders and signs (miracles) among the people.

For I have placed my fullness within you, my power rests upon you.

You are my point.

Then all who sat in the council (Sanhedrin), as they gazed intently at Stephen, saw that his face had the appearance of the face of an angel.

It is time for you to find yourself.

It is time for you to come out of the cave.

Leave your seclusion.

Abandon the cave.

For I am showcasing my glory.

I want all to see what my glory looks like.

For this season is unlike the former season.

You know how I roll.

For I know you are tired of the routine, the mundane, the formula.

Have I not given you divine strength that no hostile power can overcome?!

It is time to put on your cape, it is time to come out of the closet, it is time for my glory to be revealed.

Isaiah 60:1-3 ARISE from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you—rise to a new life! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you! For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and dense darkness all peoples, but the Lord shall arise upon you O Jerusalem, and His glory shall be seen on you. And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
