Through Fire and Water
Through Fire and Water
This tree burns but it is not consumed. This wood is not for kindling. The crackling fire restores the cracks. Binds together.
Covered by fire bursting forth with light. It does not fade away but shines more and more for my glory. It reflects me. It reflects my glory.
Exodus 3:2-4 There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a blazing fire from the middle of a bush. Moses stared in amazement. Though the bush was engulfed in flames, it didn’t burn up. “This is amazing,” Moses said to himself. “Why isn’t that bush burning up? I must go see it.” When the Lord saw Moses coming to take a closer look, God called to him from the middle of the bush, “Moses! Moses!” “Here I am!” Moses replied.
The fire moulds the water. It shakes the watery hand. It moulds the hand and is moulded by it. A strong handshake. Meant to be together. Bound to be together. Holding hands. Walking together. One has a grip on the other. Perfect balance. Perfect mix. Perfect blend. The counter balance.
What God has joined together shall become one.
Psalms 66:9-12 Who put and kept us among the living, and has not allowed our feet to slip. For You, O God, have proved us; You have tried us as silver is tried, refined, and purified. You brought us into the net (the prison fortress, the dungeon); You laid a heavy burden upon our loins. You caused men to ride over our heads [when we were prostrate]; we went through fire and through water, but You brought us out into a broad, moist place [to abundance and refreshment and the open air]. Isaiah 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned or scorched, nor will the flame kindle upon you.
