The Way of the Rose
The Way of the Rose
Song of Songs 2:1-2 [SHE SAID] I am only a little rose or autumn crocus of the plain of Sharon, or a [humble] lily of the valleys [that grows in deep and difficult places]. But Solomon replied, Like the lily among thorns, so are you, my love, among the daughters.
Walk the way of the rose. I’ve cut the roses and laid a path for your feet. It is fresh path, the path of freshness.
Can you smell it? The fragrance. Like perfume it rises. This is how I smell. The smell of fresh roses.
This is the place of habitation. This has no stench. There is an attractiveness here. The purpose is to attract. A lure and allure. But I’m not baiting you, I just want to let you know I’m here.
Like walking past and you smell the perfume, but here I want you to step in.
It reminds me of when I last walked in the garden.
There is no decay here. The petals of abundance, cover all around. Be attracted I declare!
Come close, come closer. Step upon the petal, the path that I have prepared, the way that I have made.
Be not afraid. Grip and no slip, the pruning is done and laid before your feet. Walk on it like the sling stones. But this is not a dangerous path, this is my path. It crackles and pops under your feet, each step announces your movement for all around to hear and see.
No more trespass, no more gingerly walking, no more trepidation, no more fear. This is my path, this is my way. A designated path for you. Reserved for you. All others have no right of passage. Shall not pass but only fail. This is the passing passage only for my chosen.
Fear not what has been cut off, for it is a sign of what is multiplying all around, for pruning is only to produce more abundance.
Don’t look down, look all around and see the forest of the rose!
Isaiah 35:1-2 THE WILDERNESS and the dry land shall be glad; the desert shall rejoice and blossom like the rose and the autumn crocus. It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the excellency of [Mount] Carmel and [the plain] of Sharon. They shall see the glory of the Lord, the majesty and splendor and excellency of our God.
