The Turnaround

The place of confinement is behind you. The dark wall. The solid rock wall.

I have set before you a wide open space.

Turnaround and step back in awe at the new extensions. The room is larger than you expected!

Press against the wall for it turns around.

Like a secret door. It opens into a cold dark passage with bright lights at the end. The light at the end of the tunnel.

Step forward and hear the sound of a large crowd in applause. Like a party. You step forward and wonder at all the spectacle. As you turn the corner….

Behold I have set before you a stage. A platform. Make a proclamation. That which was dead is alive again!!!

Step forward. As your eyes adjust you see your friends with eyes wide and mouths open in awe of what I’ve done.

Be loosed. Shake their hand. Be joyful for that which they thought dead is now alive. I have given you resurrection power.

Take off the wrapping that constrains. For you are no longer a slave. You were bound to be loosed. Let them see my healing power!!!! For as they peal back the binding they see no sign of injury or weakness.

John 11:39-45 Jesus said, Take away the stone. Martha, the sister of the dead man, exclaimed, But Lord, by this time he [is decaying and] throws off an offensive odor, for he has been dead four days! Jesus said to her, Did I not tell you and promise you that if you would believe and rely on Me, you would see the glory of God? So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. Yes, I know You always hear and listen to Me, but I have said this on account of and for the benefit of the people standing around, so that they may believe that You did send Me [that You have made Me Your Messenger]. When He had said this, He shouted with a loud voice, Lazarus, come out! And out walked the man who had been dead, his hands and feet wrapped in burial cloths (linen strips), and with a [burial] napkin bound around his face. Jesus said to them, Free him of the burial wrappings and let him go. Upon seeing what Jesus had done, many of the Jews who had come with Mary believed in Him. [They trusted in Him and adhered to Him and relied on Him.]

Lazarus was the forerunner but needed to be freed from the wrapping.

I rose from the wrapping for nothing could bind me.

John 20:5-9 And stooping down, he saw the linen cloths lying there, but he did not enter. Then Simon Peter came up, following him, and went into the tomb and saw the linen cloths lying there; But the burial napkin (kerchief) which had been around Jesus’ head, was not lying with the other linen cloths, but was [still]rolled up (wrapped round and round) in a place by itself. Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, went in too; and he saw and was convinced and believed. For as yet they did not know (understand) the statement of Scripture that He must rise again from the dead.

The same power that raised me lives in you.

Be loosed. Be uncontainable. Be free.

Leviticus 26:13 I am the Lord your God, Who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that you should no more be slaves; and I have broken the bars of your yoke and made you walk erect [as free men].

Feel the cool water, it refreshes, it overflows from the well that is within.

Touch the dead srivelled root and watch me overflow. It has no capacity for growth but at your touch it is restored. It flows from your innermost being it quickens the dry ground and it bears much fruit in and of itself. It needs nothing from its environment but me.

Joel 2:21-22 Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice, for the Lord has done great things! Be not afraid, you wild beasts of the field, for the pastures of the wilderness have sprung up and are green; the tree bears its fruit, and the fig tree and the vine yield their [full] strength.

The flower is the evidence of the seed resurrected!! The seed unwrapped. My power revealed for my glory!

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
