The Strong Tower

The Strong Tower

I will not come down from the wall.

Nehemiah 6:1-9 ”NOW WHEN Sanballat, Tobiah, Geshem the Arab, and the rest of our enemies heard that I had built the wall and that there was no breach left in it, although at that time I had not set up the doors in the gates, Sanballat and Geshem sent to me, saying, Come, let us meet together in one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But they intended to do me harm. And I sent messengers to them, saying, I am doing a great work and cannot come down. Why should the work stop while I leave to come down to you? They sent to me four times this way, and I answered them as before. Then Sanballat sent his servant to me again the fifth time with an open letter. In it was written: It is reported among the neighboring nations, and Gashmu says it, that you and the Jews plan to rebel; therefore you are building the wall, that you may be their king, according to the report. Also you have set up prophets to announce concerning you in Jerusalem, There is a king in Judah. And now this will be reported to the [Persian] king. So, come now and let us take counsel together. I replied to him, No such things as you say have been done; you are inventing them out of your own heart and mind. For they all wanted to frighten us, thinking, Their hands will be so weak that the work will not be done. But now strengthen my hands!”

I’m building up, an elevated path. A strong tower a mighty fortress a building that cannot be penetrated. A moving fortress. A stand out. One that stands out. One that stands. Set apart. Rising tall above the multitude. Above their heads. They will see it from afar and come to it. Surround it and embrace it. Grasp it. Enter it. Move with it. Assemble in it.

Jeremiah 1:18 For I, behold, I have made you this day a fortified city and an iron pillar and bronze walls against the whole land—against the [successive] kings of Judah, against its princes, against its priests, and against the people of the land [giving you divine strength which no hostile power can overcome].

Build it from the fragments. The ruins, the broken pieces. The left overs.. The discarded parts. The ones, no one wanted or valued. This is what I value. These are the pieces I love. Gather together. Come together, be whole again.

John 6:12 When they had all had enough, He said to His disciples, Gather up now the fragments (the broken pieces that are left over), so that nothing may be lost and wasted.

Come Into Alignment

Be aligned as you turn the piece and put it together. Speak alignment. Declare Alignment. Walk together. Lead. Be bound together. Unify. Union. Conception. Birth. The courtship is over. No more two but one! Rejoice for what God has put together no man can rend asunder.

Strength comes from unity, from alignment from valuing the broken.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
