The Strain of the Stake

The Strain of the Stake

An attempted uprooting. The pulling up of the root.

The rising of the wall from the ground. No building required. It rises up.

A pulling up, a straining of the stakes.

A strain. Take the strain. Will you accept the strain?

A straining of the stakes. Drive them deeper into the ground. The nursery is bursting at the seams.

Why strain? Drive the stakes deeper! Push into the ground.

Isaiah 33:16-22 [Such a man] will dwell on the heights; his place of defense will be the fortresses of rocks; his bread will be given him; water for him will be sure. Your eyes will see the King in His beauty; [your eyes] will behold a land of wide distances that stretches afar. Your mind will meditate on the terror: [asking] Where is he who counted? Where is he who weighed the tribute? Where is he who counted the towers? You will see no more the fierce and insolent people, a people of a speech too deep and obscure to be comprehended, of a strange and stammering tongue that you cannot understand. Look upon Zion, the city of our set feasts and solemnities! Your eyes shall see Jerusalem, a quiet habitation, a tent that shall not be taken down; not one of its stakes shall ever be pulled up, neither shall any of its cords be broken. But there the Lord will be for us in majesty and splendor a place of broad rivers and streams, where no oar-propelled boat can go, and no mighty and stately ship can pass. For the Lord is our Judge, the Lord is our Lawgiver, the Lord is our King; He will save us.

What are the stakes? What is at stake? What will you stake? What will you base your extensions on? How will you extend. What extends, what will extend? What is the basis of extension? Surely the stake is designed to take the strain of the extension, the weight of that which the cord holds? Why hold the cords? When the stake is designed for this purpose?

Focus your effort on driving the stakes deeper. Your boundaries are far extended, at are at capacity, at this time, strengthen the stakes. These are the foundation!

Consider the components. The fragments are the stakes. They are that which remain. They have withstood the testing, the breaking, the fiery trial. They shall be preserved. They are the basis of my expansion. The foundation of my nursery. The place of birthing. The house of infants. The place of crying. Any my ears shall hear their cry and attend to their every need. Am I not your husband? Am I not the father of your children? Is this not my seed? Am I not the biological father? Is this not my DNA!

I will not abandon you. I will not leave you! I am not one of those fathers that leaves the mother to attend to the children.

I am your provider. I am your husband? I am the father of this seed! These are my children! I know what is at stake. I have given you the stakes! They shall not be uprooted. They are integral. Drive them deeper. They shall take the weight from your shoulders!

Isaiah 54:1-6 SING, O barren one, you who did not bear; break forth into singing and cry aloud, you who did not travail with child! For the [spiritual] children of the desolate one will be more than the children of the married wife, says the Lord. Enlarge the place of your tent, and let the curtains of your habitations be stretched out; spare not; lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes, For you will spread abroad to the right hand and to the left; and your offspring will possess the nations and make the desolate cities to be inhabited. Fear not, for you shall not be ashamed; neither be confounded and depressed, for you shall not be put to shame. For you shall forget the shame of your youth, and you shall not [seriously] remember the reproach of your widowhood any more. For your Maker is your Husband —the Lord of hosts is His name—and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; the God of the whole earth He is called. For the Lord has called you like a woman forsaken, grieved in spirit, and heartsore—even a wife [wooed and won] in youth, when she is [later] refused and scorned, says your God.

You shall forget the reproach of your youth. You shall no longer be a widow! You shall be the mother of multiples. This is my promise to you. My word shall not return to me void. That which “is barren”, is now “was barren”, is now fertile. I declare it is done!

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
