The Solid Rock

The Unveiling of the Solid Rock

That which is fluid and dynamic veils that which is hidden but solid.

The wind reveals that which is veiled.

What is behind the veil?

I veil my approach in the storm.

Psalms 18:11-12 He shrouded himself in darkness, veiling his approach with dark rain clouds. Thick clouds shielded the brightness around him and rained down hail and burning coals.

Why?

Expect the unexpected

Expect goodness in the place of evil

Light in the darkest place.

Creatures in the deepest depth of the sea that emit light.

Stable help in the depths of the storm. Light shining in the darkness.

For I am the Solid Rock

I reach for you from the unstable, uncertain place. For I am the solid rock. All other ground is sinking sand. It is water. Who can stand on the water! I am the living water. I made the water.

Psalms 18:16 He reached down from heaven and rescued me; he drew me out of deep waters. Psalms 18:19 He led me to a place of safety; he rescued me because he delights in me.

That is why streams of living water must flow. You contain my flow. Burst forth. I must overflow.

John 7:38 He who believes in Me [who cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me] as the Scripture has said, From his innermost being shall flow [continuously] springs and rivers of living water.

When I move the enemy is disturbed. He rages like a storm. I am peace. I am stillness.

Where I walk there is stillness. In the midst of chaos I am peace. I don’t bring peace I am peace.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]

I am the rock. Where I stand is solid ground. I cannot sink. I am on top. I cannot be buried.

The rock covering my tomb was just a sign, a symbol of what lay within. When they came looking for me all they found was the rock.

They came amidst the chaos. Having lost all but then they found the rock. They found me in a form they did not recognise. I removed the veil from their eyes so they could see.

John 20:1 NOW ON the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been removed from (lifted out of the groove across the entrance of) the tomb. John 20:11-16 But Mary remained standing outside the tomb sobbing. As she wept, she stooped down [and looked] into the tomb. And she saw two angels in white sitting there, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. And they said to her, Woman, why are you sobbing? She told them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him. On saying this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing [there], but she did not know (recognize) that it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, Woman, why are you crying [so]? For Whom are you looking? Supposing that it was the gardener, she replied, Sir, if you carried Him away from here, tell me where you have put Him and I will take Him away. Jesus said to her, Mary! Turning around she said to Him in Hebrew, Rabboni!—which means Teacher or Master.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
