The Shining
The way between the thorns and the shining.
1 Samuel 14:4 Between the passes by which Jonathan sought to go over to the Philistine garrison there was a rocky crag on the one side and a rocky crag on the other side; one was named Bozez, and the other Seneh.
For your way is between the thorns and the shining.
The choice is clear, the command is clear, this is a new dawn, this is the dawn of something new. A beacon that shines across the whole land, a lighthouse upon a hill. An indication of my glory, a sign of my glory, a shining glory.
Have I not called you to shine?
Have I not called you out?
Between the passes, I have not passed you by, I have not passed you over, I have called you higher, it is I that lifts you up, it is I that calls you higher.
This was an intentional act, this was no accident, for those who thought you we missing in action, have no knowledge of the actions you have undertaken.
For you are not missing in action, you are the stimulus of the action, you are my catalyst, you are my instrument of transformation. Through you I shall cause an uprising, a rising up, a movement up, a lifting up, a taking up, a call to action.
For it is the cry of the enemy that calls my chosen to act, to rise up.
Is this not my glory, is this not my signal, is this not the place of the shining?
For the thorns come with the territory, and yet have no bearing on my plans, did not my glory shine through, even when crowned with thorns?
For your words echo across the land – “Let us go to the other side”. For the Lord is able to deliver us by the many or the few.
1 Samuel 14:6 And Jonathan said to his young armor-bearer, Come, and let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised; it may be that the Lord will work for us. For there is nothing to prevent the Lord from saving by many or by few.
Come let us go over, come let us pass over, between the passes let us go over.
In the place of the crossing, let us cross over. For there is nothing to prevent the Lord.
Repeat after me “for there is nothing to prevent, for there is nothing to prevent the Lord, for there is nothing to prevent, the is nothing that can prevent, there is no thing that can prevent, there is no thing that can stop me”
For I have called you to deliver, I have called you for deliverance, for you shall be my instrument of deliverance. The deliverance of many children, the birthplace of many, the deliverer of many.
1 Samuel 14:7-10 And his armor-bearer said to him, Do all that is in your mind; I am with you in whatever you think best. Jonathan said, We will pass over to these men and we will let them see us. If they say to us, Wait until we come to you, then we will stand still in our place and will not go up to them. But if they say, Come up to us, we will go up, for the Lord has delivered them into our hand, and this will be our sign.
I say to you do all that is in you mind, do all you intend, do not hold back for you will not be embarrassed.
If they say come, that is your cue to come up. Have they not asked you to come?
If they say wait, then stand your ground, hold your position.
1 Samuel 14:11 So both of them let the Philistine garrison see them. And the Philistines said, Behold, the Hebrews are coming out of the holes where they have hidden themselves.
For you are coming out of the place from whence I have hidden you. Come out of seclusion, come away with me, let me see your face, let me hear your voice.
1 Samuel 14:12-16 The garrison men said to Jonathan and his armor-bearer, Come up to us and we will show you a thing. Jonathan said to his armor-bearer, Come up after me, for the Lord has given them into Israel’s hand. Then Jonathan climbed up on his hands and feet, his armor-bearer after him; and the enemy fell before Jonathan, and his armor-bearer killed them after him. And that first slaughter which Jonathan and his armor-bearer made was about twenty men within about a half acre of land which a yoke of oxen might plow. And there was trembling and panic in the Philistine camp, in the field, and among all the men; the garrison, and even the raiders trembled; the earth quaked, and it became a terror from God. Saul’s watchmen in Gibeah of Benjamin looked, and behold, the multitude melted away and went hither and thither.
For what is it that the enemy can show you? For I have called you to teach them a lesson.
Arise and shine, for this is the time of shining, this is the place of shining, between the passes I have called you to shine.
