The Seed of Promise

The seed falls from your hand…

The die is cast.

With reckless abandon it falls. It tumbles forth, it rolls down.

Converse.

You call this your “down time”, you say you need some “down time”, but is this not your “UP time”?

You say “give me a break” and I have given you the break, the broken, the breakthrough.

Why have I called you “restorer”?

The “restorer” married to the “breaker”!

Have you not seen, have you not heard?

Isaiah 58:10-12 And if you pour out that with which you sustain your own life for the hungry and satisfy the need of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in darkness, and your obscurity and gloom become like the noonday. And the Lord shall guide you continually and satisfy you in drought and in dry places and make strong your bones. And you shall be like a watered garden and like a spring of water whose waters fail not. And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations of buildings that have laid waste for many generations; and you shall be called Repairer of the Breach, Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.

For the brokenness, the broken pieces are the fuel for restoration. Are the necessary tools, the needed gift, the essential ingredients for restoration. Pre-empt, the preemptive strike against the power of the enemy, the foretaste of that which is to come.

How do you perceive it?

You see “the destroyed, the lost, the left-overs, the waste, the wasteland, the abundance of waste. The waste…”

NO the foretaste of that which is to come. The abundance of the dry bones, is just a foretaste of the uprising, the defeated, positioned to dominate.

You see…”The broken, the lost, the defeated, the one that cannot stand, the one without breath, the shattered, the scattered, the symbol of defeat, of loss, the memory of the broken dream, the missed opportunity, the lost potential!”

But this is NOT how I see it..

I see…The whole, the found, the victorious, the lifted up, the powerful, the strong, the expansive, the multiplied, the sound of triumph, the sign of wonder, the beauty, the multiplied impact, the one to be feared, the one who shall overcome, the one who overcomes, the dominant, the mighty, the powerful, the significant, the warm one, the beacon of hope, the ray of sunshine, the sparks that fly upward, my fireworks, a cause of celebration, the exalted one, the raised, the miracle.

You feel it now don’t you.. you feel it in your bones, the rising up, the restoration, the breath of the mighty one, the almighty one.

Don’t cry my son, every little thing is going to be alright.

You say “compose yourself, you don’t want to make a scene”

But I say I have composed you, and I am making a scene!

As you compose, I compose you…

As you write, I say “it is written…”

As you gather up, I gather you up…

As you pick up the broken, I restore.

For I am drawing all things unto myself, I am gathering you up.

Be not downcast, just cast, cast your seed upon the waters.

You have seen this all week, this is what I want you to hold onto…

The seed rolls from your hand onto the raging stream, and yet when it falls and touches the stream, it is not lost, it does not fall away. It maintains position. The seed impacts the stream, and is impacted by the stream. As the water pushes against it, the seed becomes a stem, the stem bursts into blossom as the waves pound against it. The seed takes root in the stream and rises above the flow.

And you shall be like a tree beside the still waters, bearing fruit, providing a safe haven for all around. For this is my seed, the seed of restoration, the seed of peace and prosperity, the downtrodden rising up against all that opposes my purpose. The peasant occupying the place of the king.

Psalms 1:2-3 But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night. And he shall be like a tree firmly planted and tended by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper and come to maturity. Jeremiah 17:7-8 Most blessed is the man who believes in, trusts in, and relies on the Lord, and whose hope and confidence the Lord is. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters that spreads out its roots by the river; and it shall not see and fear when heat comes; but its leaf shall be green. It shall not be anxious and full of care in the year of drought, nor shall it cease yielding fruit.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
