The River
What is it that you seek? What is it that you desire?
For I am beyond it….
I am beyond your reach, I am beyond your touch, I am beyond your grasp.
For I am within and also without. I am inside and outside. You possess me, but you cannot touch me. I am yours and you are mine.
What is it that you seek?
The warmth, the comfort, the cuddle, the caress, the closeness, the touch, the kiss, the embrace, the love. The position? The position you desire? Your desire fulfilled?
To have and to hold….
To captivate, to possess, to draw in, to draw near, to embrace.
Just give me something to hold on to…
Embrace that which you cannot grasp, hold on to that which you cannot obtain.
For I am hope, I am joy, I am peace, I am found, I am yours…
I wrestle with the lock, I drive forward with expectation and urgency. Open the door and let me in! For I shall obtain the blessing, I shall go beyond the bounds, I shall shall obtain that which was promised. I shall possess that which is beyond the bounds, the dream… It naws at me, it wrestles with me. I refuse to accept the lack. I shall not lack, I will overflow. I cannot go with the flow, I must obtain the goal, the objective, the destination, the landmark. I must reach the land mark.
For I have established a bulwark, a fortified line, a new perimeter, a new level. A place that flows. You shall possess the place that flows. You possess the place that flows, you possess the flow. Go with MY flow
Out of YOUR belly SHALL FLOW rivers of living water. I promise!
Your word echoes throughout the land, throughout my experience, and yet I do not see the impact of it.
The drop, the sprinkle, it falls on the dry ground, but it is NOT consumed!
You feel the evaporation, you sense it, you expect it, but you do not see it.
What is it you perceive? What is it you given heed to? What are you weighting for?
Isaiah 43:18-19 Do not earnestly remember the former things; neither consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
Do not come to your senses. Do not come in response to your senses. Do not be led by your senses. Do not be carried away by your senses.
Acts 12:6-11 The night before Peter was to be placed on trial, he was asleep, fastened with two chains between two soldiers. Others stood guard at the prison gate. Suddenly, there was a bright light in the cell, and an angel of the Lord stood before Peter. The angel struck him on the side to awaken him and said, “Quick! Get up!” And the chains fell off his wrists. Then the angel told him, “Get dressed and put on your sandals.” And he did. “Now put on your coat and follow me,” the angel ordered. So Peter left the cell, following the angel. But all the time he thought it was a vision. He didn’t realize it was actually happening. They passed the first and second guard posts and came to the iron gate leading to the city, and this opened for them all by itself. So they passed through and started walking down the street, and then the angel suddenly left him. Peter finally came to his senses. “It’s really true!” he said. “The Lord has sent his angel and saved me from Herod and from what the Jewish leaders had planned to do to me!”
What is it you perceive? What you looking at?
I see a single drop landing on the desert ground. In a moment it falls. I see a snapshot, I see the fall, I expect the fall, I anticipate the evaporation of all that it contains.
Look again what is it you see?
I see that it is not consumed, it is not diminished by its surroundings. It surrounds and possesses that which surrounds it. It flows beyond expectation. It manifests beyond the boundary. The one drop covers the whole land as far as I can see.
Lift up your eyes. Look beyond your expectation, beyond the horizon of your thinking.
You get it now don’t you, your eyes well up, you feel it don’t you. I have revealed that which was hidden, I have placed it within your spirit.
Rivers of living water…..
How does a river flow from a single vessel, bounded by flesh and bone and skin?
For I flow beyond the limits of your being, the limits of your thinking…
From the small, shall come the large.
From the drop, shall come the flow.
From that which contains, shall come the absence of containment.
For the drop shall overcome the dry.
The seed shall fertilise the barren.
The tightness shall be loosed.
The cold shall become hot.
The distant shall come near.
The empty shall be filled.
The static shall move.
The contained shall flow and bring release.
1 Kings 17:4-16 You shall drink of the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there. So he did according to the word of the Lord; he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, east of the Jordan. And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning and bread and flesh in the evening, and he drank of the brook. After a while the brook dried up because there was no rain in the land. And the word of the Lord came to him: Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. Behold, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you. So he arose and went to Zarephath. When he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks. He called to her, Bring me a little water in a vessel, that I may drink. As she was going to get it, he called to her and said, Bring me a morsel of bread in your hand. And she said, As the Lord your God lives, I have not a loaf baked but only a handful of meal in the jar and a little oil in the bottle. See, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and bake it for me and my son, that we may eat it—and die. Elijah said to her, Fear not; go and do as you have said. But make me a little cake of it first and bring it to me, and afterward prepare some for yourself and your son. For thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: The jar of meal shall not waste away or the bottle of oil fail until the day that the Lord sends rain on the earth. She did as Elijah said. And she and he and her household ate for many days. The jar of meal was not spent nor did the bottle of oil fail, according to the word which the Lord spoke through Elijah.
From the place of lack, shall come the overflow.
From the dried up river, shall come the flow.
For the word of the Lord has come to you…
“It really is true…..”
