The Precursor

The Precursor

Precursor
  1. One that precedes and indicates, suggests, or announces someone or something to come

  2. One that precedes another; a forerunner or predecessor

  3. A biochemical substance, such as an intermediate compound in a chain of enzymatic reactions, from which a more stable or definitive product is formed.

There is movement in the sand….

A push, a pull, within and without.

Burrowing, expanding, rippling.

You see it moves underneath.

The roots extend and expand, all around.

Psalms 72:16 There shall be abundance of grain in the soil upon the top of the mountains [the least fruitful places in the land]; the fruit of it shall wave like [the forests of] Lebanon, and [the inhabitants of] the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.

But it is fluid, it moves fast, like a snake under the surface. Tubes, like balloons. The sand takes form and flows. It is the precursor, the before, the before movement, the before that directs.

Proverbs 21:1 The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; he turns it wherever he will.

The flow, flowing under that which is fine, finely refined, the crystal. The crystal clear. That which is crystal clear. I’m clearing out and revealing that which crystal.

At first it flows underneath, but then it is manifest above. The roots form branches. The tree is crystal clear. The glass tree. Formed by my breath, my flow.

Decorated by my light, that dazzles. It glistens before you and all around.

You have heard of the forerunner, now you will see the precursor. It sparkles. I’m lightening it up. It’s fruit will sparkle. It sparks. It sparks attention. It sparks, it ignites, it fires up.

Come close and receive the fire. Stand back and observe the Lightning flow. The stream sparkles, bathed in the reflection of that which sparkles. Look closer and cup the stream and see the Lightning sparkles within, illuminating all around.

I’m touching that which is withered. See the dew form upon it. At first soft. Covering all. But then hard like crystal. A protective covering. Shape shifting. Morphed by the dew. Stretched by the dew, by that which is due.

Job 14:7-9 For there is hope for a tree if it is cut down, that it will sprout again and that the tender shoots of it will not cease. Though its roots grow old in the earth and its stock dies in the ground, Yet through the scent [and breathing] of water [the stump of the tree] will bud and bring forth boughs like a young plant.

The dew suspended above awaiting the growth. Dew that is beyond the edge, more capacity, more than what is required. Making room. More than what is required. Space, creating space, protected space, awaiting fullness.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
