The Precipice

Pushed forward.

Taken to the edge.

Invited to come.

Chosen.

Appointed for this appointment.

Personally selected.

From the many, you have been selected, you have been chosen, you have got this job.

Teetering upon the edge, about to go over, about to go overboard.

At the tipping point, the point of the tipping, the moment where you shall be tipped.

Elevated to the highest place, rightfully placed upon the pinnacle, placed upon the high point, established upon the high point. Take up residence upon the high point, get used to being upon the pinnacle. Get used to being in the spotlight.

You see the light shining upon you, reflecting off you.

You use the words “arise and shine” as an invitation to get out of bed.

I use “rise and shine” as a command to awaken the dawn.

For your place is not behind the trees, your place is out in the open, in the wide open space, in the place of vastness, in the place without boundary, in the place of expansion.

For I have declared “you are not an ordinary person”, that is my favourite picture of you.

I love how you loved that picture, how you remember it, line by line, edge by edge.

I loved the look upon your face, a mix of “how did he get there?”, with “I am he, that will be there!”

For your words and my words declare you shall stand upon the pinnacle without fear, without alarm, with strength and power.

What is the point of standing upon the point?

For I am making a point, you are my point!

For my work is not pointless, my purpose shall stand, and your purpose is to stand upon my purpose.

For I shall cause your feet to stand upon the high places, with complete security, with deliberate confidence, with all might, all power to accomplish that which I have purposed.

Psalms 18:28-40 For You cause my lamp to be lighted and to shine; the Lord my God illumines my darkness. For by You I can run through a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall. As for God, His way is perfect! The word of the Lord is tested and tried; He is a shield to all those who take refuge and put their trust in Him. For who is God except the Lord? Or who is the Rock save our God, The God who girds me with strength and makes my way perfect? He makes my feet like hinds’ feet able to stand firmly or make progress on the dangerous heights of testing and trouble; He sets me securely upon my high places. He teaches my hands to war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You have also given me the shield of Your salvation, and Your right hand has held me up; Your gentleness and condescension have made me great. You have given plenty of room for my steps under me, that my feet would not slip. I pursued my enemies and overtook them; neither did I turn again till they were consumed. I smote them so that they were not able to rise; they fell wounded under my feet. For You have girded me with strength for the battle; You have subdued under me and caused to bow down those who rose up against me. You have also made my enemies turn their backs to me, that I might cut off those who hate me.

It is like you have climbed to the top and now realise that you are afraid of heights and wonder how you will get down.

Yet the high place, the elevated place is your place.

I’ve designed it so that you will stand out, when you stand all shall see your stance.

So here you have found yourself upon the edge, yes you have “found” yourself upon the edge.

That which you have been looking for shall be found here.

You have been looking for yourself for so long, yet this is the place where you shall find yourself.

You resist the spotlight, yet this is for my glory, the light that is upon you is glorious.

For so many seek the limelight, and yet all you seek is my light.

Why so surprised that you find yourself here?

Is this not the place of glory? Shall this not be glorious?

For I have already given you the words to say, I have already placed them upon your lips.

For is this not the best place to proclaim my goodness, yes just say “my goodness”, for this shall be the place of goodness, the territory of goodness, the blessed place, the place of blessing, the habitation of the blessed.

For I have chosen you for such a time as this.

I am confident that you are the right man for this job, you come with my highest recommendation, I shall back you up to the hilt, I shall not let you fall.

For this is the place of uprising, the place that I shall reclaim, the redeemed place, the place for those whom I have redeemed.

And the redeemed of the Lord shall return…

Isaiah 51:11 The Lord God says And the redeemed of the Lord shall return and come with singing to Zion; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

This is the place where sorrow and sighing shall flee away, the habitation of the joyful, the place where my glory resides, the place where joy bursts forth.

For I have given you my sceptre, my instrument of authority, my seal of approval, by royal decree it shall be so.

It’s personal. You are why, but it is personal.

You know what I mean when I say this.

You are my beloved, through you shall many be loved, experience my love.

You wonder how, but I want you to know who.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
