The Gate

Rest your hand upon the gate. Battered and torn. Rickety, buckled, dented and bruised.

You need no battering ram, just rest upon it and it moves.

Micah 2:13 The Breaker will go up before them. They will break through, pass in through the gate and go out through it, and their King will pass on before them, the Lord at their head.

Enter the dark, push open the door. You look for light, but you are the light. You see the bright light, but it reflects from you. You illuminate the path. You shine my light in the darkest places.

John 12:46 I have come as a Light into the world, so that whoever believes in Me whoever cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me may not continue to live in darkness.

For this is the light of restoration. For this place is without power, you flick the switch but there is no impact. For the darkness has no power. Only my light shines and the darkness has no power over it.

You walk through the house of ruin, but don’t be afraid of the darkness, shine my light and see my goodness. My goodness! For you walk not upon that which is broken without purpose. You are my oil of joy for mourning, you are my instrument of restoration.

Stand not at the gate, enter in. For this gate I have opened for you.

Acts 3:6-11 But Peter said, Silver and gold (money) I do not have; but what I do have, that I give to you: in the use of the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk! Then he took hold of the man’s right hand with a firm grip and raised him up. And at once his feet and ankle bones became strong and steady, And leaping forth he stood and began to walk, and he went into the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God. And all the people saw him walking about and praising God, And they recognized him as the man who usually sat begging for alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement (bewilderment, consternation) over what had occurred to him. Now while he still firmly clung to Peter and John, all the people in utmost amazement ran together and crowded around them in the covered porch (walk) called Solomon’s.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
