The Boundary of the Small
The boundary of the small.
The water sifts the sand, brings forth the gold. The waves like a rim of a giant pan.
Jeremiah 5:22 Do you not fear and reverence Me? says the Lord. Do you not tremble before Me? I placed the sand for the boundary of the sea, a perpetual barrier beyond which it cannot pass and by an everlasting ordinance beyond which it cannot go? And though the waves of the sea toss and shake themselves, yet they cannot prevail [against the feeble grains of sand which God has ordained by nature to be sufficient for His purpose]; though [the billows] roar, yet they cannot pass over that [barrier]. [Is not such a God to be reverently feared and worshiped?]
Pushed down in the deep to be elevated in the shallow. On one side my gold, on the other, the course and unrefined.
Back wash. There will come a wave from the land towards the shore. Not sourced from the sea but from my fountain bursting forth from the place of overflow.
Isaiah 58:11 The Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring.
I’m using the pure refined pieces to sculpt a piece for the Master a masterpiece.
I’m making something big from the small pieces. The combination of the small to make something large. Speak refinement. Experience refinement.
Psalms 139:17-18 How precious and weighty also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I could count them, they would be more in number than the sand. When I awoke, [could I count to the end] I would still be with You.
I work with the broken pieces
I work with the broken pieces. I build with the broken pieces. Ruins are my speciality. From the broken I will establish walls. Boundaries. Territories. Borders. Piece by piece my word shall be established. Precept by precept, line by line. Brick by brick. I’ll supply the mortar I’ll align the pieces.
Ezra 9:9 For we are bondmen; yet our God has not forsaken us in our bondage, but has extended mercy and steadfast love to us before the kings of Persia, to give us some reviving to set up the house of our God, to repair its ruins, and to give us a wall [of protection] in Judah and Jerusalem.
I’ve strengthened your hands. Take off your gloves. Feel the piece. Feel the alignment, the edge, the fit. Touch the surface. Feel the substance, the solid from the brittle. Touch, feel it for you will not see it.
Put your hands in the stream. Watch me sculpt the sand. Gather the pieces.
Psalms 143:6 I spread forth my hands to You; my soul thirsts after You like a thirsty land [for water]. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]! Habakkuk 3:10 The mountains saw You; they trembled and writhed [as if in pain]. The overflowing of the water passed by [as at the deluge]; the deep uttered its voice and lifted its hands on high.
