Taken

Here take this…

Here take this…

Here take this…

These words echo in your ears, over and over, over and over.

Taken aback.

Taken back.

For what was taken, is now a given.

You know what I mean.

I am standing there with my hand out….

I say to you take this…

Yet you look somewhat bewildered.

Yet look as someone who has never had this opportunity.

You don’t know how to respond.

You sit there in wonder.

You pause in wonder.

You sit there wondering.

What shall I do with that?

What do you want me to do with that?

Full of questions, there you sit, full of questions.

Taken back.

Taken aback.

For now is the time to receive.

For you shall be taken by that which I give.

For I am giving back that which was taken.

Did I not say a gift for this, and a gift for that, in every way you are gifted.

The gift of joy.

The gift of peace.

The gift of absence.

The absence of pain.

The absence of pressure.

The absence of tension.

The absence of restriction.

The breaking of the chain.

Yes look again, what is it I have in my hand?

It is the broken chain.

Here take this.

What does this represent?

The symbol of freedom. The representation of breakthrough. The power of your hand. The release of the captive. The gift of freedom. The absence of confinement. The breaking of that which contains.

This is what freedom feels like.

For I have broken that which held you back.

I have broken the boundary, the binding, the restrictions.

For I say to you “be free”

Say to yourself, “freedom is here”.

For you shall know what it is like to be free.

Free to come.

Free to go.

Free to rise up.

Free to choose.

Free to just be.

Free to love.

Free to give.

Yes free to give.

For I am restoring your ability to give.

Here comes a reversal, no longer give and take, now take and give.

For I shall cause that which was taken to now be a given.

For it shall be a given that there shall be a receiving.

Expect to receive that which I have given.

For the taker, shall become the giver, and the giver shall become the taker.

For I say unto you, “take this”.

Exodus 4:17 And you shall take this rod in your hand with which you shall work the signs that prove I sent you.

For I what you to be taken, to take this, to receive that which I have prepared for you.

For I have set the table, I have laid out the finest food, and there you sit at the table wondering if what is on the table is for you?

For the king sits at the table, in the full knowledge and expectation that what is on the table is for him.

From whom does he ask permission to eat?

Surely his guests await for him to partake, to take of that which has been prepared?

2 Samuel 9:7-13 David said to him, Fear not, for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father’s sake, and will restore to you all the land of Saul your father grandfather, and you shall eat at my table always. And the cripple bowed himself and said, What is your servant, that you should look upon such a dead dog as I am? Then the king called to Ziba, Saul’s servant, and said to him, I have given your master’s son grandson all that belonged to Saul and to all his house. And you shall till the land for him, you, your sons, and your servants, and you shall bring in the produce, that your master’s heir may have food to eat; but Mephibosheth, your master’s son grandson, shall eat always at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants. Then Ziba said to the king, Your servant will do according to all my lord the king commands. So Mephibosheth ate at David’s table as one of the king’s sons. Mephibosheth had a young son whose name was Micha. And all who dwelt in Ziba’s house were servants to Mephibosheth. So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem, for he ate continually at the king’s table, even though he was lame in both feet.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
