Taken

Take up your position.

You have that look on your face.

The one with the clenched teeth.

The one with the elevated tension.

The one with the look of an uprising.

The one where you look like you are going to rise up.

The one that look like you have been pushed too far.

You so want to push back.

Like the pushing of a giant domino, you want to bring the whole house down.

For your enemy knows how to pull the trigger.

He knows your trigger points.

He smiles as he points to that which triggers you.

He invites you, he beckons you to come.

For he knows how you love to spend your time.

For you the perfect life is absent of meetings.

For there you sit pondering how your last meeting was such a waste of time. People expressing their frustration, yet not helping in anyway to resolve it, compounded by the fact that rather than speaking about it you could be spending the time resolving it.

You want to say to them “get out of my way, stop the going around in circles and let me through, for I am through”.

On the other side of breaking you shall be through.

You want to rend asunder, to break all that stands in your way, to push everything aside and barge your way through.

I am so sick and tired of being told how to solve problems, and people complaining about issues they created. Get me out of here!

Yet it is I that wants to teach you something.

What is it that you are content with?

What does being content look like?

Is it not strength with great patience?

Is it not joy despite the spite?

Is it not a different kind of rising up?

What is it you see right now?

Standing up from the table to greet a special guest.

At first you rise up to meet them, you come up to their level.

Yet then invite them to sit.

Take them to your level.

Show them a different level.

Welcome them to a new position.

For have I not prepared this table?

Have I not set you up?

Your issue is one of position.

What really is your position?

Master or slave, I’m not sure which!

What if I said you are neither?

For you are my chosen, my representative, my desire, my advocate, my prince, my voice, my mouthpiece.

The powerful one, the anointed one, the preferred one, the designated one.

Your position is secure and cannot be moved.

Yet you think it can!

You have more choices that you think.

You posture yourself as a slave, yet there you sit wearing royal robes.

You are so frustrated because you are trying, not being!

How does one try to be royal?

For his position was determined at birth.

He does not jockey for a position that he already has!

You have the posture of a peasant, and yet the position of a prince!

Adjust your focus and then adjust your posture.

Say unto yourself “what are you looking at?”

The limitation, the lack, the restriction, the appearance of restriction.

Yet it is not as a seems.

For what was the outcome, and who determined it?

What I wanted, at a time that I wanted.

It seems to me that you are disagreeing with yourself. For there was both a shift and a sacrifice. Is there not another choice?

Is there not a better choice without sacrifice?

You find yourself allowing others to make decisions for you, rather find yourself and then make the decision for them.

I want you to Lord it over them.

No really, Lord it over them.

Have I not put you in charge?

Either take up the position or it will be taken by your opponent.

Show them the way.

Say “of course”, and then show them the path forward.

Take charge, say charge, and charge them for it.

Stop trying and take up your position.

This is what I want you to do.

2 Chronicles 20:17 You shall not need to fight in this battle; take your positions, stand still, and see the deliverance of the Lord [Who is] with you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Fear not nor be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.

It was nice to meet you today.

You are always welcome to meet with me.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
