Set Apart

Set Apart!

For I have given you the power of the opposite.

Intense power!

Distinctive power!

Unrivalled power!

Untainted power!

Immense power!

Let’s do this!

Build a snowman in the hottest desert!

Actually let’s take it up a notch!

Build an igloo in the driest place.

No. I am serious about this!

Who told you what to build. Is this not the work of my hand! Can I not build whatever I want, wherever I want!

Psalms 102:16-20 When the Lord builds up Zion, He will appear in His glory; He will regard the plea of the destitute and will not despise their prayer. Let this be recorded for the generation yet unborn, that a people yet to be created shall praise the Lord. For He looked down from the height of His sanctuary, from heaven did the Lord behold the earth, To hear the sighing and groaning of the prisoner, to loose those who are appointed to death,

For I have given you the power of the opposite.

Watch this.

The staff in your hands becoming an icicle.

See the drops fall from your hand in the driest place.

Look again.

Seriously have another look!

Have a closer look!

Look closely.

What is it you see?

The drop is still present. It has not evaporated!

Look again what is it you see?

A pattern forming in the drop.

What sort of pattern? Here let me amplify it for you!

What does it look like?

A snowflake.

Here let me multiply it for you!

Crystals of snow forming. snowflakes multiplying on the ground without any snow falling. Powdery snow forming in your hand by your hand.

As your hand shapes the snow, what is it you see?

The ice falling from the shape, falling upon the desert sand. The ice overpowering all that it rests upon.

You want to ask, how can it be that it does not melt?

For the intensity of the snow overpowers all that it rests upon.

Freeze.

Freeze frame.

What is so unusual to you?

The ice is not melting, yet grows larger and larger of its own accord. What does this all mean Lord?

For my power grows in your hand, is manifest in your hand, has substance in your hand.

For the flow forms in your hand. One structure upon another.

Houses, ladders. Streets. Substance you can be sure of. Substance you can rest upon. For I have told it not to melt.

You can be certain of this.

For I want you to stand out.

Let’s do something different.

The opposite of what you expect.

The ability to impact the very atmosphere.

Even the smallest flake is not impacted by its surroundings.

How can this be, unless I declare it to be so?

Let’s make something of the vapour.

Let’s make something in the midst, from the mist.

For it crystallises in your hand.

That which flows shall have substance.

Marked as distinct.

Standing out from the surrounds.

“Everyone can see that you have been marked”

“Mark us for your glory”

For what I have put in your hand shall have substance.

For what I have put in your hand shall now have substance.

More and more distinct. Flakes of many colours. Flakes growing beyond their usual shape and size.

The old season resting upon the new.

For I grant you the ability to do the impossible, to build that which could not be built by natural means.

2 Chronicles 15:7 Be strong, therefore, and let not your hands be weak and slack, for your work shall be rewarded. Zechariah 8:9-13 Thus says the Lord of hosts: Let your hands be strong and hardened, you who in these days hear these words from the mouths of the prophets who on the day that the foundation of the house of the Lord of hosts was laid foretold that the temple should be rebuilt. For before those days there was no hire for man nor any hire for beast, neither was there any peace or success to him who went out or came in because of the adversary and oppressor, for I set (let loose) all men, every one against his neighbor. But now [in this period since you began to build] I am not to the remnant of this people as in the former days, says the Lord of hosts. For there shall the seed produce peace and prosperity; the vine shall yield her fruit and the ground shall give its increase and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to inherit and possess all these things. And as you have been a curse and a byword among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so will I save you, and you shall be a blessing. Fear not, but let your hands be strong and hardened.

For I will keep my promise to you!

For you can see it in the mist, in the midst.

For the seed of the old, shall rest upon the new.

The flow frozen in time. My snapshot.

My time capsule.

The seed of the old now resting upon the new.

The promise unfurled before you.

The crushed seed, frozen in time.

“New beginning”

“Red as crimson now white as snow”

“One touch, changes our DNA”

My icing on the cake.

It shall be know as my icing on the cake.

Is this not the best part?

Have I not left the best until the very last!

Indeed you have!

For I have set you apart in order that you might stand out.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
