Rise Up

For you shall be as God to them.

Exodus 7:1 THE LORD said to Moses, Behold, I make you as God to Pharaoh; and Aaron your brother shall be your prophet.

Say to yourself, speak to yourself, direct yourself, point to yourself and say….

“Rise up, arise, get up, push up, lift up, get up, look up”

For you have cast yourself down.

You have chosen to prostrate yourself.

You look down upon yourself.

Yet you saw how I look at you.

Was my face not beaming with delight? Radiant with joy, my face shining like the sun!

For you are not defined by your choices, you are defined by my choice.

For I chose you.

I say come out, come forward, come to the front, come and be at the forefront!

You wonder how it is that I have chosen you, you feel left behind, you think you have fallen behind, you think you are playing catch up.

Yet it is I that has placed you at the forefront.

Long before it was generally accepted, I spoke it out through your lips.

You spoke it out with such confidence, and yet the response was lacklustre, was the look of one who had never heard that before.

With the giants of the industry, you gave them things to think about, you asked them questions they had not ever heard before. You sent them back to the drawing board.

Yet now you find yourself, yes you find yourself, with pen poised upon the blank canvas pondering…

You hesitate, you pause, not because you don’t know what to write, but because you have lost hope that it will come to pass.

Say to yourself, speak to yourself, tell yourself, shout to yourself – GET UP!!!!!!!

Just get up!

Have I not put these words upon your lips.

Did I not speak these words to those assembled before you?

Yes, you found yourself, you found yourself in their midst, in a foreign place, in the set apart place, in a place where no-one else would even turn up.

In the women’s group, in the place where you jokingly said how you would rather go to a woman’s group than a man’s group, because it was so much more interesting.

You sat and observed, you heard their voices rise in worship, and in this foreign place, you felt my presence like never before. The ground shook, the water rose from the ground upon where you stood, your body became so hot, that you had to hold on to something. Yet you pulled me in closer, you took my spirit and pulled me closer.

You were so overcome you did not know what to say, and all you could do was sit and observe.

Then, in a moment, in a instant, in the midst a great alarm, a great crisis, a disturbance that disturbed all around and yet you were not disturbed, for I had given you the words to say.

Job 22:21-22 Acquaint now yourself with Him agree with God and show yourself to be conformed to His will and be at peace; by that you shall prosper and great good shall come to you. Receive, I pray you, the law and instruction from His mouth and lay up His words in your heart. Job 22:24-30 If you lay gold in the dust, and the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brook considering them of little worth, And make the Almighty your gold and the Lord your precious silver treasure, Then you will have delight in the Almighty, and you will lift up your face to God. You will make your prayer to Him, and He will hear you, and you will pay your vows. You shall also decide and decree a thing, and it shall be established for you; and the light of God’s favor shall shine upon your ways. When they make you low, you will say, There is a lifting up; and the humble person He lifts up and saves. He will even deliver the one for whom you intercede who is not innocent; yes, he will be delivered through the cleanness of your hands.

“When they make you low, you will say there is a lifting up.”

For the response was unexpected….

The one who carries your armour, the great and mighty breaker, broke open a way for you.

For they were so pre-occupied with the crisis they did not see that you had raised your hand.

In an instant, in a moment she caused them to notice you.

She said “I think he might have something to say”

You found your lips moving before you were conscious of it. You felt my presence and power so strong, and yet held yourself back. You wanted to rise up, but remained seated. You could feel my calling to rise up.

You remained seated, for you did not want to make a scene.

For you saw what it was that I wanted to do, you saw the room shake with my power, yet you did not want to make a scene.

Yet this is just a preview of what is to come.

“The time is now, the time is now, breakthrough, breakthrough, sons and daughters we cry come. And spirit come, and spirit pour out, so we wait, we receive our strength. So spirit blow on through, spirit come and do, what only you can do”

Yet I have given you a glimpse of your gifting, a small taste of what I want to do with you.

For what else did I cause you to say?

Isaiah 60:1-6 ARISE from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you—rise to a new life! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you! For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and dense darkness all peoples, but the Lord shall arise upon you O Jerusalem, and His glory shall be seen on you. And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. Lift up your eyes round about you and see! They all gather themselves together, they come to you. Your sons shall come from afar, and your daughters shall be carried and nursed in the arms. Then you shall see and be radiant, and your heart shall thrill and tremble with joy at the glorious deliverance and be enlarged; because the abundant wealth of the DeadSea shall be turned to you, unto you shall the nations come with their treasures. A multitude of camels from the eastern trading tribes shall cover you Jerusalem, the young camels of Midian and Ephah; all the men from Sheba who once came to trade shall come, bringing gold and frankincense and proclaiming the praises of the Lord.

Yes you saw it again now, didn’t you?

“ARISE”. I put it in CAPS just for you!

“Unreserved, unrestrained”

“Your love is proud to be seen with me”

So, what was their reaction?

You were expecting nothing, for you many times have received nothing, and yet, and yet this time was different.

For this time is now different. It will be different this time. In this time it will be different, for this is the time of impact, this is the time where your difference will make a big difference.

“You two are just Christian soldiers, it is so wonderful to be with you in this group!”

What the heck? Well that was unexpected!

Now hear the words I have put upon your lips.

“Arise and shine, for my glory is revealed upon you, yes all you have to do is arise, for through you I shall cause an uprising, a revolt, a revolution, a turnaround. Through you I will cause those who have turnaround, to turn back, to come back. For those who have fallen, shall rise at the sound of your voice. The wounded, the battered, the weary will be restored by my spirit, by my power that flows through you.”

For you shall no longer be isolated, you shall be the set apart one, the mighty one, the deliverer, the warrior, the elevated one that causes all around to rise.

For the stage is set, the script has been written, and the lead has been determined.

I am so looking forward to the opening night!

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
