Refreshing Fire

Refreshing Fire

For I have placed the hand of fire on the body of refreshment.

The warmth of your presence, placed upon that which is so precious.

Embrace refreshment.

Embrace the flow.

Hold on to the flow.

The clearest water you have ever seen, flowing over, flowing upon, more so embedded within.

For I have given you the body that flows.

Contained but uncontainable.

Flowing within, yet not contained.

Bounded but unbound.

Resting within, yet flowing without.

For she goes with my flow.

For she carries my flow.

In her shape I have placed my flow.

Unimpacted by that which touches her.

Unimpeded by the interruption.

Yet by your hand.

Yet by your hand.

Propelled by fire.

Embraced by fire.

Touched by my fire.

Really touched by my fire.

On fire.

Fired up.

Powered by fire.

Held by fire.

For my fire rests upon her.

For the hand of my fire, rests upon her.

Opposite, yet not opposing.

Opposite, yet not in opposition.

Natural opposites, yet supernatural compliments.

Water embracing fire, and fire embracing water, my delight, delightful, full of delight, expressing my delight, exposing my delight.

Out of order, yet in my perfect order.

For you have embraced that which you cannot grasp.

Refreshing fire.

Heated flow.

The warmth of my flow.

Bathed in the warmth of my flow.

Yet there is more.

So much more.

The powerful glimpse, the glimpse of great power.

Only a glimpse, a fleeting moment, yet so intense you are still feeling it.

You return to it often, it echoes in your ears, it resonates still.

Describe it for me.

At first a glimpse, the snapshot of her hand, her arm, windswept, brown from the intensity of the son. A familiar arm, a familiar hand. I could feel the intense heat, beating down upon us. The dry ground evident behind her. At first I thought it was the desert place, the dry place, the uninhabitable place. Then her smile convinced me otherwise. For how could someone be so joyful in the most desolate place? Then again I saw her, the gentle breeze flowing all around. And she danced before me with great joy and delight. The radiance of her face was all consuming. And again I returned and was taken aback by what I heard. At first I thought It was the sound of a horse, but then you showed me it was a herd of camels. And then she spoke to me and said “do you need any water?” My heart was overwhelmed within me, I could not compose myself. It was as you had foretold, it could only be your doing, it was by design, your handiwork on display. I am overwhelmed by your love. Yet you know what it reminds me of? For this is the word on your lips – “Rebekah?”

Genesis 24:14-21 And let it so be that the girl to whom I say, I pray you, let down your jar that I may drink, and she replies, Drink, and I will give your camels drink also—let her be the one whom You have selected and appointed and indicated for Your servant Isaac [to be a wife to him]; and by it I shall know that You have shown kindness and faithfulness to my master. Before he had finished speaking, behold, out came Rebekah, who was the daughter of Bethuel son of Milcah, who was the wife of Nahor the brother of Abraham, with her water jar on her shoulder. And the girl was very beautiful and attractive, chaste and modest, and unmarried. And she went down to the well, filled her water jar, and came up. And the servant ran to meet her, and said, I pray you, let me drink a little water from your water jar. And she said, Drink, my lord; and she quickly let down her jar onto her hand and gave him a drink. When she had given him a drink, she said, I will draw water for your camels also, until they finish drinking. So she quickly emptied her jar into the trough and ran again to the well and drew water for all his camels. The man stood gazing at her in silence, waiting to know if the Lord had made his trip prosperous.

For there you are again gazing in silence, waiting to know.

In a daze you gaze upon in wonder, wondering, pondering what is my intent?

Yet you know what I am saying.

For she is my instrument of wonder, for she causes you to pause in wonder, to be full of wonder.

Did I not say I would be with you in a sun scorched land?

Isaiah 58:11 The LORD will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring.

For I will restore unto you the years the locust has eaten.

You will be a fountain of blessing in the desolate place.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
