Recognition

What is it that you recognise?

How is it you recognise?

What is is that shapes your thoughts and perceptions?

Who is it that gives you perspective?

Let me see?

Let me see!

Now let me see?

How is it you see?

What is it you see?

How is it you regard that which is in your hand?

How do you look upon it?

Recognition.

Re cognition.

Have another thought.

How is it you think?

How is it that you connect the dots?

What is the form of it?

How is it formed?

How is your view formed?

Who determines it?

Is your way already determined?

What is it you give regard to?

You know the words forming on your lips but don’t what to say them!

For you fail to recognise.

There I said it for you.

You want them to recognise the potential, their potential, to take a walk with you, but they would rather take a hike.

Or they sit with their arms crossed unconvinced, unable to recognise, or unwilling to recognise.

They would rather “phone a friend” than ask for your opinion.

For they fail to recognise.

I know how you feel…

Let me walk you through it.

There I was just minding my own business, just going for a stroll heading to the place I told them to go, did I not say I would meet them there?

There I was in the midst.

Taking a unique path, a path not tread before, a pioneering path, an unexpected path, and unanticipated route, the not obvious path.

When they were thinking of their destination, they only considered the natural option, the usual option, in their mind their only option.

Yet my path was beyond limitation, without limitation, was the route without limit or boundary, based on a whole another level of thinking.

For my path was not the prescribed path, yet was the most effective means of progress.

In a moment, in an instant my way, my path intersected with theirs.

In a flash, literally in a flash, a moment of recognition, a moment to recognise, an opportunity to recognise.

If I had come on the boat with them and taken the journey with them they would have not given my presence another thought.

Yet my ways are so much higher than theirs.

My intent was to show them another way, a way without limit, a way beyond their limited thinking.

For some the experience was horrific, shocked them to their very core, yet for those attuned to my ways there was a moment of recognition.

From their lips came the words “behold it is the Lord”.

For those in fear, the place of fear, I spoke to their fear and said “stop being afraid”, then I spoke to the circumstance, the catalyst for their fear, the atmosphere, and in a moment all was calm.

There were many on the boat, and could have joined me upon the water. Did I not say come? Did I not invite them to come?

One I met upon the water, the others on the boat, yet all obtained the revelation.

Mark 6:47-52 Now when evening had come, the boat was out in the middle of the lake, and He was by Himself on the land. And having seen that they were troubled and tormented in their rowing, for the wind was against them, about the fourth watch of the night between 3:00–6:00 a.m. He came to them, walking directly on the sea. And He acted as if He meant to pass by them, But when they saw Him walking on the sea they thought it was a ghost, andraised a deep, throaty shriek of terror. For they all saw Him and were agitated (troubled and filled with fear and dread). But immediately He talked with them and said, Take heart! I AM! Stop being alarmed and afraid. And He went up into the boat with them, and the wind ceased (sank to rest as if exhausted by its own beating). And they were astonished exceedingly beyond measure, For they failed to consider or understand the teaching and meaning of the miracle of the loaves; in fact their hearts had grown callous had become dull and had lost the power of understanding.

Let me tell you another story.

My chosen, my appointed, my prophet, my oracle, my mouthpiece, my visionary.

I gave him so much insight, foresight, to him I gave supernatural sight. He had the power to recognise, to see, to perceive that which others could not.

They came looking for him, they searched him out, they chased him down, surrounded his place of habitation, seeking to block his path, to limit his movement, to shut him down, to take him out.

Again a moment of recognition, an opportunity for recognition.

His opponent recognised him as a threat.

Yet he was not threatened by their actions, for I had recognised him, I had chosen him, I had appointed him.

There he sat in the midst of the attack, in the moment of confrontation, the moment of recognition.

Yet what everyone saw was not how I saw it.

For this was not the place of defeat, not the place of restriction, not the place of surrender, not the place of fear.

This is not what it seems.

Have I not given you the eyes of Elisha?

For you know how I see it.

For you know how I see it.

For you KNOW how I SEE it!

What is it I recognise?

Am I not doing a new thing?

What is your choice?

What is your question?

Open their eyes that they may see. Close their eyes so that they may be lead. How incredible that they would be led by the one they sought to kill! 2 Kings 6:13-20 He said, Go and see where he is, that I may send and seize him. And it was told him, He is in Dothan. So the Syrian king sent there horses, chariots, and a great army. They came by night and surrounded the city. When the servant of the man of God rose early and went out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was around the city. Elisha’s servant said to him, Alas, my master! What shall we do? Elisha answered, Fear not; for those with us are more than those with them. Then Elisha prayed, Lord, I pray You, open his eyes that he may see. And the Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. And when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, Smite this people with blindness, I pray You. And God smote them with blindness, as Elisha asked. Elisha said to the Syrians, This is not the way or the city. Follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom you seek. And he led them to Samaria. And when they had come into Samaria, Elisha said, Lord, open the eyes of these men that they may see. And the Lord opened their eyes, and they saw. Behold, they were in the midst of Samaria!

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
