Radiance
“We’re not afraid of what it looks like”
So tell me how you see it? What is it that you see?
For your eyes are closed, or you stand there with your arm raised not in praise but to shade your eyes from the brilliance of my glory.
You squint, you are afraid to open your eyes, you try and hide your eyes from the brightness of my glory.
You catch glimpses of it and it blows your mind!
The shopping mall, with the unripe fruit, then suddenly like a jungle it is overflowing with fresh fruit.
The off cuts, buried, but now blossoming.
The vine growing from the barren soil, producing unique fruit to sustain many.
The barren land becoming the lush green pasture.
The path, laden with gold, overflowing with gold.
The House made with precious stones, turquoise, emerald and sapphire, the cutlery laced with diamonds.
The Kings palace.
Is this not fitting for someone in your position?
Have I not given you a seat at the kings table?
For you know how it is, you know how it shall be.
At first the houses that you did not build, now the vineyard that you did not grow.
So my people await your declaration. What are the principles, what is your command, how shall it be? What shall it become?
Open your eyes, for have I not given you the eyes of Elisha? Receive my courage. For I am with you says the Lord of Hosts.
For the word is “Magnificence”, magnified majesty, amplified prosperity, enriched potential.
For is anything too hard for me? For I have made you fit for this purpose. You wonder if you are up for the challenge, you hesitate, you pause and give regard to your capabilities. Yet you know what I am capable of.
Draw on my capacity, ask me for more, I will show you how.
For you shall grow accustomed to unexpected blessing, you will get used to it, it shall be your common experience.
Beyond your imagination, now declared from your lips, tell them how it should be, Lord it over them. Expect me to bring it to pass. Expect it to be as you have said.
Tune in, open your eyes, feel my glory, experience my power. Through you I am shaking the ground upon which the enemy stands. For your agitation shall bring settlement, a place to settle, a place for my people to dwell.
You see it now don’t you? For this land flows with milk and honey, it streams across the land, like radiant pools of blessing.
For when people speak your name, their face will shine with radiance, they will beam with joy.
Isaiah 60:1-11 ARISE from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you—rise to a new life! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you! For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and dense darkness all peoples, but the Lord shall arise upon you, and His glory shall be seen on you. And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. Lift up your eyes round about you and see! They all gather themselves together, they come to you. Your sons shall come from afar, and your daughters shall be carried and nursed in the arms. Then you shall see and be radiant, and your heart shall thrill and tremble with joy at the glorious deliverance and be enlarged; because the abundant wealth of the DeadSea shall be turned to you, unto you shall the nations come with their treasures. A multitude of camels from the eastern trading tribes shall cover you, the young camels of Midian and Ephah; all the men from Sheba who once came to trade shall come, bringing gold and frankincense and proclaiming the praises of the Lord. All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered to you as the eastern pastoral tribes join the trading tribes, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister to you; they shall come up with acceptance on My altar, and My glorious house I will glorify. Who are these who fly like a cloud, and like doves to their windows? Surely the isles and distant coastlands shall wait for and expect Me; and the ships of Tarshish shall come first, to bring your sons from afar, their silver and gold with them, for the name of the Lord your God, for the Holy One of Israel, because He has beautified and glorified you. Foreigners shall build up your walls, and their kings shall minister to you; for in My wrath I smote you, but in My favor, pleasure, and goodwill I have had mercy, love, and pity for you. And your gates shall be open continually, they shall not be shut day or night, that men may bring to you the wealth of the nations—and their kings led in procession your voluntary captives.
