Passing

The place of the passing, the passing of the place.

The place of the passing.

The place to overtake, to take over, to pass, to pass through.

The time of the passing, for the time draws near for the passing, of the passing.

For it is time to pass.

It is time to pass.

Just say “I’ll pass on this one, I’ll pass on this turn, I’ll sit this one out, you can play without me.”

It is the time to overtake, the time to take over.

First position yourself, for you must take up your position, no need to brace yourself.

2 Chronicles 20:17-20 You shall not need to fight in this battle; take your positions, stand still, and see the deliverance of the Lord Who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Fear not nor be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you. And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell down before the Lord, worshiping Him. And some Levites of the Kohathites and Korahites stood up to praise the Lord, the God of Israel, with a very loud voice. And they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem! Believe in the Lord your God and you shall be established; believe and remain steadfast to His prophets and you shall prosper.

For you are not without power.

You don’t need to sit behind the wheel, and freak out, and hold your breath as you did before. No need to plan so far ahead, to look for the longest straight and wait for the road to clear.

For I have given you power.

Let me say that again, “for I have given you great power”.

For you need not fear the passing. For at any time, despite what opposes you, despite what is coming against you, you can pass at any time.

You know it, you feel it, at half strength you are passed in a moment, in an instant, you are going so fast that you need to brake, as you pull back in.

Before you knew it, you were past.

For you say “it is what it is”, but I say “it is not what it was”.

For I have given you power, for I have given you power to pass.

At first you were tentative, then you were shocked by such power at your fingertips.

Then you were increasingly confident, but a new position was required.

Before you would build up speed before pulling out, so as to have momentum.

But then you needed to adjust your timing, and adjust your position, for the build up of speed was so rapid that you had to brake to stop hitting that which was in front of you.

Now you just pull into the lane that opposes you, and then unleash the horses, whatever gear you are in makes little difference, in a moment, in an instant you are past that which slows your progress.

For when you have great power, you need no momentum. In a moment in an instant you have momentum, no waiting is required.

You know the power I have given you, power to move, power to accelerate, power to choose the timing.

But know this, you have the power to pass.

For when you overtake, you shall recover.

As you pass, you shall recover.

As you move, you shall take over.

For the time of her passing draws near.

Fear not for I have made room for you.

I have engineered a break in the traffic, a break in that which opposes you.

For you know it is time to move.

Get ready to move, get ready to go, look for my timing.

For that which opposes you shall be broken.

That which slows your progress, shall be behind you.

For that which once caused concern, shall now bring forth joy. Before anxiety now pure joy!

Now the passing of the place.

For I have established your going.

Let me say that again “For I have established your going”

I know where you are going, yet more so, I am establishing it.

You look before you and see no way across.

You think about what little strength you have and wonder how it is you will make progress.

But look again, what is it you see?

The positioning of the barriers, the elevation of the barriers…

Is this not my handiwork, is this not the work of my hands?

For I am establishing a way, where there was no way.

Not a way through, but a way over, an overpass.

The place of the passing, the place to pass over that which stands before you.

Exodus 15:9-17 The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my desire shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them. You Lord blew with Your wind, the sea covered them; clad in mail they sank as lead in the mighty waters. Who is like You, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, awesome in splendor, doing wonders? You stretched out Your right hand, the earth’s sea swallowed them. You in Your mercy and loving-kindness have led forth the people whom You have redeemed; You have guided them in Your strength to Your holy habitation. The peoples have heard of it; they tremble; pangs have taken hold on the inhabitants of Philistia. Now the chiefs of Edom are dismayed; the mighty men of Moab renowned for strength, trembling takes hold of them; all the inhabitants of Canaan have melted away—little by little. Terror and dread fall upon them; because of the greatness of Your arm they are as still as a stone—till Your people pass by and over into Canaan, O Lord, till the people pass by whom You have purchased. You will bring them in to the land and plant them on Your own mountain, the place, O Lord, You have made for Your dwelling, the sanctuary, O Lord, which Your hands have established.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
