Origin Story

In the volume of the book it is written.

Volumes and volumes, pages of pages.

Numerous pages.

Multiple pages.

Page after page.

The stack of pages.

The largest book.

The multiplicity of pages.

Flicking through the pages.

Page after page.

The many words.

The many pages.

The many words on the many pages.

In the volume of the book it is written.

Psalms 40:6-10 Sacrifice and offering You do not desire, nor have You delight in them; You have given me the capacity to hear and obey Your law, a more valuable service than burnt offerings and sin offerings which You do not require. Then said I, Behold, I come; in the volume of the book it is written of me; I delight to do Your will, O my God; yes, Your law is within my heart. I have proclaimed glad tidings of righteousness in the great assembly tidings of uprightness and right standing with God. Behold, I have not restrained my lips, as You know, O Lord. I have not concealed Your righteousness within my heart; I have proclaimed Your faithfulness and Your salvation. I have not hid away Your steadfast love and Your truth from the great assembly.

For each page follows the next.

Each page sets up the next.

For one page leads to another.

The story forming as it is written.

Who knows what the next page will say?

Is it not a continuation of what has been written before?

Before you start to write, you want to know how the story ends.

Yet you have a great love for mystery.

If you know how it ends, would you be interested in reading it?

For there is a difference between the reading and the writing.

For the writer must know the journey, must have taken the journey, must have a sense of adventure, must have an adventurous spirit.

For it is always easier to write the story, when you know how it ends.

Yet I know every page that is before, and every page that is after.

What has caused you to pause?

Who has caused you to pause?

What is the block that stops you from writing?

For it irritates you so much when someone jumps to a conclusion about something that they know nothing about.

It is like they have jumped to the last chapter, without reading the book.

For in a great adventure the last chapter is far from a conclusion, it is the pinnacle of the journey, it where the boy kisses the girl, the enemy is defeated, the kingdom is established, the relief from the battle is felt, the spoils of war are consumed.

And yet, they think they have read the last chapter and know how the story ends, and know what you have gone through, and know what is impeding your progress.

You love to ask the question “what is your story?” And to wait as they articulate what they consider the highlights.

Yet I have given you the power of insight, the power of revelation, the power to encourage.

How many have commented on what you have said recently and exclaimed with amazement how much your words impacted them?

You know the answer Lord, each and every one.

For there is a huge difference between the judgement of the flesh and the empowering revelation of the spirit.

One gives life, the other brings death.

Block your ears to the judgement of the flesh, open your ears to my words, my insight, my revelation, my perspective, my power, my prophesy.

Well it is time to tell your story.

For they know not from whence you have come, and they know not from whence you are going.

Yet they must know by what means you travel.

For I have given you just a glimpse of what is to come.

What is the answer to your question?

A picture of you and I walking in the garden. Not knowing where I am going, but just holding your hand and keeping in step.

Yes is this not what you miss the most in the absence of your beloved?

Yes it is so hard to describe, yet I care not for where we are going, or how long it will take, as long as I am holding the hand of the one I love.

So it is time to turn the page. Let’s start a new chapter.

Let’s start a new volume.

For each book shall lead to another, each step shall lead to another.

Time to pause and reflect.

Time to reflect and ponder.

Time to rest and reap.

For I have put my words in your mouth.

Jeremiah 1:5-9 Before I formed you in the womb I knew and approved of you as My chosen instrument, and before you were born I separated and set you apart, consecrating you; and I appointed you as a prophet to the nations. Then said I, Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am only a youth. But the Lord said to me, Say not, I am only a youth; for you shall go to all to whom I shall send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Be not afraid of them their faces, for I am with you to deliver you, says the Lord. Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth. And the Lord said to me, Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
