One Hundred Times

I love the driest place.

Where there is no life, no growth, no water, no creature, no power, no people.

For I wait for the impossible moment, the last moment, the final moment, the inevitable moment.

Mark 10:27-30 Jesus glanced around at them and said, With men it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God. Peter started to say to Him, Behold, we haveyielded up and abandoned everything once and for all andjoined You as Your disciples, siding with Your party and accompanied You walking the same road that You walk. Jesus said, Truly I tell you, there is no one who has given up and left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for My sake and for the Gospel’s Who will not receive a hundred times as much now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life.

For this is the timely moment, this is my time, this is the time I love the most.

For my time comes, for this is my time.

For this is the time of the harvest.

For there shall be growth in the dry place.

For this shall not be the expected outcome.

For you expect nothing to grow in the dry place.

Yet what is it you see?

The flow in the driest place. As the ground shrivels up under the heat, my flow comes.

At the moment you have lost all hope, your hope comes, your hope shows up.

For you shall blow off the dust.

You expect a giant dust storm, and yet what is it you see?

The settling of the dust, captured by a mist.

And where is the place of the falling?

For it lands upon the lush green pasture.

For you shall soon see the unexpected.

The wet footprint impressed upon the dry desert ground.

When you place your hand upon the desert sand what is it you feel?

At first I feel the grind, but then a softness, a smoothness…

What is it you see?

Growth in a dry place, lush green grass in the place where my fingers touched the ground.

For by your hand there shall be growth in the driest place.

Genesis 26:12-14 Then Isaac sowed seed in that land and received in the same year a hundred times as much as he had planted, and the Lord favored him with blessings. And the man became great and gained more and more until he became very wealthy and distinguished; He owned flocks, herds, and a great supply of servants, and the Philistines envied him.

The time of the one hundred, the hundred times.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
