On the Brink

This is a temporary barrier. I’m stopping the flow so that you might cross over.

Some things were made to be broken, made to brake the flow, made for break through.

The pressure rises against the barrier. When you cross over it falls and the overflow is restored. The monument remains. A testament to the test.

Joshua 3:15-17 And when those who bore the ark had come to the Jordan and the feet of the priests bearing the ark were in the brink of the water — for the Jordan overflows all its banks throughout the time of harvest — Then the waters which came down from above stood and rose up in a heap far off, at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan; and those flowing down toward the Sea of the Arabah, the Salt [Dead] Sea, were wholly cut off. And the people passed over opposite Jericho. And while all Israel passed over on dry ground, the priests who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan, until all the nation finished passing over the Jordan.

Refreshing flow on that which is burnt. The light glistens off the water, standing out as a highlight amidst the darkness, that which had no colour.

At first a trickle, then a stream then a torrent.

If you are on the brink, if you stand on the brink, take a stand on the brink, then be assured I, even I am the one who holds back. It piles up, I’m stockpiling it in a heap for the opportune time, for the time of opportunity, for the time of harvest, the time of overflow.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
