On Fire

Look again what is it you see?

Covered in fire Every part of my body covered in fire The cloak of fire The coat of fire The flow of fire

Reach out your hand and place it on the fire.

In a moment, in an instant you feel the heat, the searing heat.

Yet do not withdraw your hand.

For I have placed my warmth in your hand.

In your hand I have placed my fire.

Press in, hold on, release my fire!

Daniel 10:5-7 I lifted up my eyes and looked, and behold, a man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with pure gold of Uphaz. His body also was a golden luster like beryl, his face had the appearance of lightning, his eyes were like flaming torches, his arms and his feet like glowing burnished bronze, and the sound of his words was like the noise of a multitude of people or the roaring of the sea. And I, Daniel, alone saw the vision of this heavenly being, for the men who were with me did not see the vision, but a great trembling fell upon them so that they fled to hide themselves.

Look again, what is it you see?

My hand like a blow torch cutting through. Sparks flying everywhere.

And cut through and make plain.

And cut through and set right.

Hebrews 12:12-13 So then, brace up and reinvigorate and set right your slackened and weakened and drooping hands and strengthen your feeble and palsied and tottering knees, And cut through and make firm and plain and smooth, straight paths for your feet yes, make them safe and upright and happy paths that go in the right direction, so that the lame and halting limbs may not be put out of joint, but rather may be cured.

Oh greatly beloved man…

Daniel 10:16-19 And behold, one in the likeness of the sons of men touched my lips. Then I opened my mouth and spoke. I said to him who stood before me, O my lord, by reason of the vision sorrows and pains have come upon me, and I retain no strength. For how can my lord’s servant who is so feeble talk with this my lord? For now no strength remains in me, nor is there any breath left in me. Then there touched me again one whose appearance was like that of a man, and he strengthened me. And he said, O man greatly beloved, fear not! Peace be to you! Be strong, yes, be strong. And when he had spoken to me, I was strengthened and said, Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me. Daniel 10:20-21 Then he said, Do you know why I have come to you? And now I will return to fight with the hostile prince of Persia; and when I have gone, behold, the hostile prince of Greece will come. But I will tell you what is inscribed in the writing of truth or the Book of Truth. There is no one who holds with me and strengthens himself against these hostile spirit forces except Michael, your prince.

You are in the right place at the right time.

For I am with you in the fire.

Turn it up.

Repeat after me “turn it up”

7 times hotter.

Daniel 3:18-19 But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image which you have set up! Then Nebuchadnezzar was full of fury and his facial expression was changed to antagonism against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Therefore he commanded that the furnace should be heated seven times hotter than it was usually heated.

For that which turns against you shall be consumed by their own fire.

Daniel 3:20-22 And he commanded the strongest men in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace. Then these three men were bound in their cloaks, their tunics or undergarments, their turbans, and their other clothing, and they were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. Therefore because the king’s commandment was urgent and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame and sparks from the fire killed those men who handled Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

For I am with you in the furnace.

Daniel 3:23-25 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the burning fiery furnace. Then Nebuchadnezzar the king saw and was astounded, and he jumped up and said to his counselors, Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered, True, O king. He answered, Behold, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they are not hurt! And the form of the fourth is like a son of the gods!

For you shall go where no man has gone before.

For I have gone before you.

For you shall walk upon that which would kill another.

For you shall make progress in the place of death.

For you shall walk in the light, for you walk with the light.

That which binds you up, that which constricts your movement, that which held you captive shall be released, shall be consumed.

Daniel 3:27 And the satraps, the deputies, the governors, and the king’s counselors gathered around together and saw these men—that the fire had no power upon their bodies, nor was the hair of their head singed; neither were their garments scorched or changed in color or condition, nor had even the smell of smoke clung to them.

For I have opened your eyes.

For I have opened their eyes.

For it is your destiny to walk with those who are aflame.

How is it you know how to proceed?

Is it not I that have opened your eyes?

Is it not I that holds your hand?

Have I not given you the sight of Elisha?

Yet you are not alone.

Yet you are not alone.

That which was crafted to take you out, now brings you in.

For I am with you in the furnace of affliction.

For I am with you in the place of promotion.

For I am with you in the place of the turning.

For I am with you in the place of the around and round.

For this is not an aimless walk.

This is not the walk of containment, this is the walk of freedom.

For the evil one asks you to come out, for he has no power to enter in.

Come out to your place of promotion.

Come out to the place of recognition.

For you shall stand out in the crowd.

For you shall stand with me.

Recognised for your opposition, then recognised for your walk, then recognised for who is walking with you.

Daniel 3:29-30 Therefore I make a decree that any people, nation, and language that speaks anything amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego shall be cut in pieces and their houses be made a dunghill, for there is no other God who can deliver in this way! Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the province of Babylon.

For you shall trample and render underfoot that which comes against you.

For the place where you walk is immaterial.

The temperature of your environment has no impact.

For I have determined your course.

For I have set your foot in its rightful place.

For the enemy seeks to throw you out, yet my purpose is to elevate.

From the fiery pit to the place of great authority that is your destiny.

For I have ordered your steps.

I have released your movement.

I have enlarged your territory.

For in the presence of great heat, you shall be the picture of cool.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
