On Edge

On Edge

On the brink.

On the cusp.

On the edge.

On the verge.

On the point.

On point.

At the point of tipping.

On edge.

Balancing on the edge.

Teetering upon the precipice.

Taking flight.

Yes taking flight.

Have no fear, just take flight, take this flight.

Who cares? You ask.

I ask, will you trust the ground for support or would you rather have air support?

One can be seen, the other is not visible, but can be felt.

Abandon yourself.

Seriously abandon yourself.

Leave yourself behind.

Walk away from your old self.

Leave your baggage with the baggage keeper.

For you must lay down the old in order to pick up the new.

Lay down the sling stone and pick up the sword, pick up your sword.

Go for the head.

Seriously aim for the head.

Go for broke.

Abandon all to embrace all.

Dive in.

Go all in over your head.

Yes that is it.

Is it not “the bomb”?

Go down deep, way over your head, in over your head.

For in this place is freedom.

For despite the pressure above, there is great calm to be found beneath.

For I have given you the deep.

I have given you the depths.

For in the place of fear, there is great calm.

All you can feel is great calm.

The place of great peace.

The place without movement, the place without breath, the place of great darkness, the place of great stillness.

For this is the place where you shall be refreshed.

Dive in and receive my refreshment.

For you have my support.

For you have my support.

For you have my support.

For I have hold of you.

Yes I have hold of you.

For I am with you in the depths.

For when you pass through the waters, they shall not overwhelm you.

Well that was quite a flashback Lord. From the great depths looking up to the great heights. Deep sea diving seeking to obtain that which was already captured in the net.

Yes now you know, now you have knowledge.

Yet you have great experience.

For you know what it is like to walk in the fire.

Crackling all around, burning all around, fire all around, yet you are not consumed.

Did I not promise to guide you from long ago, in the place of the sun scorched land?

Isaiah 58:11 And the Lord shall guide you continually and satisfy you in drought and in dry places and make strong your bones. And you shall be like a watered garden and like a spring of water whose waters fail not.

You feel the unbearable heat of the fire, yet have not opened your eyes to the fact that it has no impact upon you.

For I love to show up in the unexpected place, the least likely place, at the most unexpected time.

You are still struggling to come to terms, to come to terms with it.

Yet you know what you saw, you know it was me, you know it was a sign of my intent.

Yes Lord, I can feel it, I can see it now.

The fiery seed, the seed of fire, shining brightly across the land. The small feeble seed, burning with my intense fire.

Yet what was it you saw my son?

The seed in my hand, the burning seed in my hand, moulded in my hand, formed in my hand, brought together in my fingers, moulded into a tree of fire, burning for all to see. All consuming but not consumed, crafted by my hand.

Yes even now it takes shape, my handiwork in your hands. Displayed for all to see.

For I am with you in the deep, I am with you in the depths, and you can be certain of the outcome.

For the three promotion.

For the one proclamation.

Jonah 1:15 So they took up Jonah and cast him into the sea, and the sea ceased from its raging. Jonah 2:10 And the Lord spoke to the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land. Jonah 3 AND THE word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time, saying, Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach and cry out to it the preaching that I tell you. So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city of three days’ journey [sixty miles in circumference]. And Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried, Yet forty days and Nineveh shall be overthrown! So the people of Nineveh believed in God and proclaimed a fast and put on sackcloth [in penitent mourning], from the greatest of them even to the least of them. For word came to the king of Nineveh [of all that had happened to Jonah, and his terrifying message from God], and he arose from his throne and he laid his robe aside, covered himself with sackcloth, and sat in ashes. And he made proclamation and published through Nineveh, By the decree of the king and his nobles: Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything; let them not feed nor drink water. But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth and let them cry mightily to God. Yes, let every one turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands. Who can tell, God may turn and revoke His sentence against us [when we have met His terms], and turn away from His fierce anger so that we perish not. And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God revoked His [sentence of] evil that He had said that He would do to them and He did not do it [for He was comforted and eased concerning them].

Three in one, one in three.

Isaiah 43:1-2 BUT NOW thus says the Lord, He Who created you, O Jacob, and He Who formed you, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed you [ransomed you by paying a price instead of leaving you captives]; I have called you by your name; you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned or scorched, nor will the flame kindle upon you.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
