No Escape
No Escape!
There is no escape, there is no way out, you are surrounded, come out with your hands up!
Trapped, held hostage, bound, hands tied, gagged, beaten, bruised, bashed, impacted, mistreated.
It was a miscarriage. Carried to a place that was amiss. Expectations for the promised birth, but it was miscarried. Dropped, not carried well, accidents do happen!….
But are we not held in the palm of His hand? Is it possible for the one who carries everything to drop anything?
Surely if it appears to be dropped, it is still carried by him, in a way that we cannot discern?
The confinement closes in, all around. It is dark in here, the chains appear tighter today, the bruises more painful. More clutter, more junk, more baggage, less room, narrower paths, all I see and sense, and feel is the mess! Surrounded by the mess! Get me out of here!
Burdened by the baggage, it piles up upon me, it weighs heavily, item upon item, weight upon weight, more than I can bear!
What are you weighting for? Receive not the weight! Carry not the burden! Lay aside EVERY weight. Stop weighting! The light shines……Impacted by the light. Blinded by the light. Get up, get dressed, you are no longer bound, but are free!
What! Where are the chains? Who took them off? How shall we escape? There is no escape!
Come, come, come now, I command you to come!
But the conditions are not right, it is too dark, just give me time to wake up, to come to my senses!
And they walked through, the enemy stopped in their tracks, whilst they passed safely by. Just walk, take a step, hold on to me, take my hand, hold fast to the vision. Walk with me, talk with me! I am present, not absent, I’m walking with you, I am holding your hand! It makes no sense, so why be guided by your senses! Stay focused on what I am doing! Acts 12:6-10 The very night before Herod was about to bring him forth, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, fastened with two chains, and sentries before the door were guarding the prison. And suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared [standing beside him], and a light shone in the place where he was. And the angel gently smote Peter on the side and awakened him, saying, Get up quickly! And the chains fell off his hands. And the angel said to him, Tighten your belt and bind on your sandals. And he did so. And he said to him, Wrap your outer garment around you and follow me. And [Peter] went out [along] following him, and he was not conscious that what was apparently being done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. When they had passed through the first guard and the second, they came to the iron gate which leads into the city. Of its own accord [the gate] swung open, and they went out and passed on through one street; and at once the angel left him.
I’m straining, I’m frustrated, I’m at the end of the rope, I’m closed in, on all sides. THERE IS NO ESCAPE!
Have I not led your every step? Am I not in front of you? Am I not the breaker? The First to go through. The Forerunner! The One who leads the way. When I say charge, the enemy shudders and the ground shakes! When I say go forward, have I not stepped here first? Yet I am also behind, I stand between your past and your future, between the enemy who overtakes, to the one who is now overtaken. Did you get that! There is now a reversal, from overtaken, to the one who overtakes, who is over that which is taken! Yet I am also the one who stands in the midst. I stand with you in the midst! Walk with me in the midst. Take my hand. See the light, walk in the light, in the place that is light! Feel the light, feel the weight no more, lay aside the weight. Give it to me to carry! Seriously!
Here I am worried that you might drop it! What the heck! If it is to be laid aside, then go right ahead and drop it! What is it that you would have me carry?
The plunder of the enemy! Hebrews 12:1-2 THEREFORE THEN, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us, Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
