My Precious

For some things were designed to be unbreakable.

Fashioned in the fire.

Formed under great pressure.

Harder than steel.

Stronger than anything that comes against it.

Immovable, unshakable, unbreakable.

And yet there is so much more…

Here take it in your hand.

Hold it up to the light.

What is it you see?

What is it you feel?

Behold, just behold, just hold, just be, be full of wonder.

For to hold her is a great wonder.

For that which is precious, that which is highly regarded, that which displays my highlights, that which reflects my glory is so precious.

See how it glistens in the light.

See the sparkle, as you turn, as you regard, as you look upon that which is so precious.

From every angle a new light, a new reflection, a new glory, a new perspective.

It sparkles, it glistens, it’s reflection multiplies, it takes one source of light and multiplies it. A dispersion of light, an amplification of light, a reflection of light.

When you look up close, when you go looking for the source of the light, what is it you see?

The smooth edge, the refined edge, the cutting edge, yet the light cannot be found.

You have spoken well.

For that which is most precious reflects my light, my glory.

Yet that which is most precious is defined by the edge, the refined edge, the smooth edge, the cutting edge.

Is this not the purpose of the precious, to reflect my glory, to showcase the edge, to reveal my edge?

Yet the edge is hidden to those who look from afar, for you must come close, you must use a magnifier to reveal the edge.

Those who regard the mystery of the light, will be drawn to examine the edge.

For it is my glory that attracts, yet it is the edge that defines.

What defines that which is precious?

How is that which is precious defined?

For where your heart is, that is where your treasure is, for that which you treasure defines that which is precious.

You are my precious treasure.

2 Corinthians 4:6-9 For God Who said, Let light shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts so as to beam forth the Light for the illumination of the knowledge of the majesty and glory of God as it is manifest in the Person and is revealed in the face of Jesus Christ (the Messiah). However, we possess this precious treasure the divine Light of the Gospel in frail, human vessels of earth, that the grandeur and exceeding greatness of the power may be shown to be from God and not from ourselves. We are hedged in (pressed) on every side troubled and oppressed in every way, but not cramped or crushed; we suffer embarrassments and are perplexed and unable to find a way out, but not driven to despair; We are pursued (persecuted and hard driven), but not deserted to stand alone; we are struck down to the ground, but never struck out and destroyed; 2 Corinthians 4:15-18 For all these things are taking place for your sake, so that the more grace (divine favor and spiritual blessing) extends to more and more people and multiplies through the many, the more thanksgiving may increase and redound to the glory of God. Therefore we do not become discouraged (utterly spiritless, exhausted, and wearied out through fear). Though our outer man is progressively decaying and wasting away, yet our inner self is being progressively renewed day after day. For our light, momentary affliction (this slight distress of the passing hour) is ever more and more abundantly preparing and producing and achieving for us an everlasting weight of glory beyond all measure, excessively surpassing all comparisons and all calculations, a vast and transcendent glory and blessedness never to cease!, Since we consider and look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting), but the things that are invisible are deathless and everlasting.

For my greatest treasure is found in the place of the breaking.

Amidst the darkness, buried deep within the deeps, in the place of the harrowing, in the harrowing place, in the place of the pounding, in the place of the crushing, my greatest treasure is found.

For in this place my glory shines, my precious is revealed, my power is showcased, my love is on parade.

For in the place covered in darkness, my light shines.

For the breaker breaks open a way, smashes open the rock, tears down the wall, to reveal the light, to showcase that which is unbreakable, that which cannot be broken, that which is most precious.

Zechariah 9:11-17 As for you also, because of and for the sake of the covenant of the Lord with His people, which was sealed with sprinkled covenant blood, I have released and sent forth your imprisoned people out of the waterless pit. Return to the stronghold of security and prosperity, you prisoners of hope; even today do I declare that I will restore double your former prosperity to you. For I have bent Judah for Myself as My bow, filled the bow with Ephraim as My arrow, and will stir up your sons, O Zion, against your sons, O Greece, and will make you Israel as the sword of a mighty man. And the Lord shall be seen over them and His arrow shall go forth as the lightning, and the Lord God will blow the trumpet and will go forth in the windstorms of the south. The Lord of hosts shall defend and protect them; and they shall devour and they shall tread on their fallen enemies as on slingstones that have missed their aim, and they shall drink of victory and be noisy and turbulent as from wine and become full like bowls used to catch the sacrificial blood, like the corners of the sacrificial altar. And the Lord their God will save them on that day as the flock of His people, for they shall be as the precious jewels of a crown, lifted high over and shining glitteringly upon His land. For how great is God’s goodness and how great is His beauty! And how great He will make Israel’s goodliness and Israel’s beauty! Grain shall make the young men thrive and fresh wine the maidens.

Yes you see it now don’t you, you have answered your own question, for you now know, for you now know, for you now know, for you now have knowledge.

You ask – “What is the point?”, for I am making a point, for I am making you my point, a mighty sword, a sword of a mighty man.

For the breaking was for a purpose, to reveal the precious, to showcase that which is precious, to reveal my glory.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
