Magnificent

Quietness and confidence shall be your strength.

Isaiah 30:15 For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: In returning to Me and resting in Me you shall be saved; in quietness and in trusting confidence shall be your strength….

In the quietness, in the stillness I am here.

In the absence.

In your absence.

In the absence of.

In the absence of the right words.

In the absence of words.

Without words.

Without a word.

In the absence of a word.

In the absence of the word.

Without words.

Without speech.

With nothing to say.

Silence.

Selah.

Still.

Be still.

Without words I am still here.

In the absence of words, what is it you feel?

Your presence. In her absence you are present. For your presence is never absent. For you don’t know what it is like to withdraw.

Yet I myself withdrew from the crowd to spend time with my father.

In your absence I am present.

I am present in your absence.

I am an effective substitute.

That which you long for is here.

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.

Proverbs 13:12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when the desire is fulfilled, it is a tree of life.

I want you to be a tree of life.

For I am your hope.

For I am your hope.

For hope makes not ashamed.

I am the fulfilment of your longing.

You try to explain our relationship, and are frustrated that no one gets it. You are frustrated with yourself because you cannot adequately explain it, your explanation does not have the intended impact. You do not even know what you want the impact to be.

It is Iike you are awaiting their permission to act out!

Yet you did not ask anyone’s permission to be in love with your beloved.

You did not seek to explain your actions?

You did not seek to analyse the manifestation of your love.

For it was without explanation, yet it remains a true representation of my love, even to this day.

In fact there is nothing you enjoy more than kissing your wife in public.

Yet why so withdrawn with my love?

Why so inhibited in the manifestation of our love?

For when you and I get together is this not magnificent?

Is this not worth magnifying?

For my love is poured out.

I have broken the box.

Yes I am extravagant I in my love. I am not shy about it, I am not reserved. In fact I am recklessly abandoned in my love for you.

For you are my love, you are the manifestation of my love.

Come out, yes come out of seclusion my shy and modest dove.

Don’t be shy about my love.

Be reckless with my love.

This is how I see it. I want you to be like Hannah. My manifest presence. My vehicle for release. My demonstration of intimacy.

1 Samuel 1:5-20 But to Hannah he gave a double portion, for he loved Hannah, but the Lord had given her no children. This embarrassed and grieved Hannah and her rival provoked her greatly to vex her, because the Lord had left her childless. So it was year after year; whenever Hannah went up to the Lord’s house, Peninnah provoked her, so she wept and did not eat. Then Elkanah her husband said to her, Hannah, why do you cry? And why do you not eat? And why are you grieving? Am I not more to you than ten sons? So Hannah rose after they had eaten and drunk in Shiloh. Now Eli the priest was sitting on his seat beside a post of the temple (tent) of the Lord. And Hannah was in distress of soul, praying to the Lord and weeping bitterly. She vowed, saying, O Lord of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your handmaid and earnestly remember, and not forget Your handmaid but will give me a son, I will give him to the Lord all his life; no razor shall touch his head. And as she continued praying before the Lord, Eli noticed her mouth. Hannah was speaking in her heart; only her lips moved but her voice was not heard. So Eli thought she was drunk. Eli said to her, How long will you be intoxicated? Put wine away from you. But Hannah answered, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but I was pouring out my soul before the Lord. Regard not your handmaid as a wicked woman; for out of my great complaint and bitter provocation I have been speaking. Then Eli said, Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant your petition which you have asked of Him. Hannah said, Let your handmaid find grace in your sight. So she went her way and ate, her countenance no longer sad. The family rose early the next morning, worshiped before the Lord, and returned to their home in Ramah. Elkanah knew Hannah his wife, and the Lord remembered her. Hannah became pregnant and in due time bore a son and named him Samuel heard of God, Because, she said, I have asked him of the Lord.

For love needs no explanation, it needs demonstration.

Be unrestrained, be undignified, just be with me, don’t apologise for my love, don’t cover up my love, be exposed, be uncovered, be, just be.

For I love to expose myself to you, reveal myself to you, be present with you, be close to you, be next to you, hold on to you, embrace you, care for you, love you.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
