Look again

Look Again!

Come close.

Come a little closer, come a little deeper. Stay close. I want you near me, right next to me, right at my side.

I want you at my side. Not behind, not before, but beside.

You will not be behind hand on the day of opportunity. Not behind, no longer behind. No longer to the back, but to the side, at my side. Not beside yourself, but beside me, your whole self.

Run forward, for the day is fast gone and dawn is coming. The night, the darkness that consumes, is about the break. The dawn is about to break.

Look for it, wait with joyful expectation!

I know you are not a morning person, but don’t you want to see the breaking of the darkness! The light beams over the horizon, the darkness is in a moment overcome by the light!

Presently you move in the darkness, stand in the darkness, walk in the darkness, now run in the darkness. Am I not your light? Have I not shown you the path? Have you not my sight? Do you not see what I see? Is this not my vision?

Mark 8:13-21 And He went away and left them and, getting into the boat again, He departed to the other side. Now they had [completely] forgotten to bring bread, and they had only one loaf with them in the boat. And Jesus [repeatedly and expressly] charged and admonished them, saying, Look out; keep on your guard and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herodand the Herodians. And they discussed it and reasoned with one another, It is because we have no bread. And being aware [of it], Jesus said to them, Why are you reasoning and saying it is because you have no bread? Do you not yet discern or understand? Are your hearts in [a settled state of] hardness? Having eyes, do you not see [with them], and having ears, do you not hear and perceive and understand the sense of what is said? And do you not remember? When I broke the five loaves for the 5,000, how many [small hand] baskets full of broken pieces did you take up? They said to Him, Twelve. And [when I broke] the seven loaves for the 4,000, how many [large provision] baskets full of broken pieces did you take up? And they said to Him, Seven. And He kept repeating, Do you not yet understand?

At first contrast, light and shade and an outline. The vision of an outline. A map of the perimeter. The shapes and sizes of what is before you.

Come again.

Come again!

Come back for more!

An enhanced view. A new view. What you have not seen before. The revealing, the unveiling, the opening, the light where there was darkness. Uncertain movement, now certain engagement, encounter, connection. Eye to eye, face to face, shared vision.

Mark 8:22-25 And they came to Bethsaida. And [people] brought to Him a blind man and begged Him to touch him. And He caught the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village; and when He had spit on his eyes and put His hands upon him, He asked him, Do you [possibly] see anything? And he looked up and said, I see people, but [they look] like trees, walking. Then He put His hands on his eyes again; and the man looked intently [that is, fixed his eyes on definite objects], and he was restored and saw everything distinctly [even what was at a distance].

How do you look? What do you see? Look again…… Just look again. Do you see what I see. Can you see what I am looking at. Do we not have the same vision? Do we not see the same thing?

Mark 8:27-29 And Jesus went on with His disciples to the villages of Caesarea Philippi; and on the way He asked His disciples, Who do people say that I am? And they answered [Him], John the Baptist; and others [say], Elijah; but others, one of the prophets. And He asked them, But who do you yourselves say that I am? Peter replied to Him, You are the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

No more stumbling, no more uncertainty, no more doubt, no more running in the dark. For you shall see, you can see. Look, look again, look out. Lift up your eyes.

Matthew 16:17 Then Jesus answered him, Blessed (happy, fortunate, andto be envied) are you, Simonxx Bar-Jonah. For flesh and blood [men] have not revealed this to you, but My Father Who is in heaven.

Be radiant. Shine. Magnify. Be magnificent.

Uncovering, revealing, illuminating. It is my light. It is what my light does. An unveiling. But not pulled back. Covered by darkness, now pushed back by light. Without boundary. No where to hide the darkness is consumed by the light.

Open your eyes, lift up your eyes and see. I bring good news!

Isaiah 52:6-9 Therefore My people shall know what My name is and what it means; therefore they shall know in that day that I am He who speaks; behold, I AM! How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good tidings, who publishes peace, who brings good tidings of good, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, Your God reigns! Hark, your watchmen lift up their voices; together they sing for joy; for they shall see eye to eye the return of the Lord to Zion. Break forth joyously, sing together, you waste places of Jerusalem, for the Lord has comforted His people, He has redeemed Jerusalem!

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
