Lead from the edge….

Upon the edge, upon the precipice, upon the pinnacle, upon the extraordinary place.

For you are not an ordinary person.

You stand upon the place where others would not go.

I have placed you here for a reason.

For it is upon the edge that my glory is revealed.

For it is upon the edge that the sun rises and sets.

Where my glory meets the horizon, meets the defining line, the boundary line.

For to be on the edge is to be in the presence of my glory.

Bathed in glory, soaking in glory, you see it now don’t you.

The silhouette of your form, the edge of your being, defined by the glory that shines behind you.

Is this not a defining moment?

Is this not a moment of definition?

Where all you can see is the edge, for the form, the substance is hidden, and only the edge is revealed.

You feel like you are on the edge, on the brink, on the place of the falling, on the edge of failing, on the edge of your senses, your thoughts, your desires.

Isaiah 60:1 ARISE from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you—rise to a new life! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!

Yet is it not I that defines you?

You have heard the debate, the contention of form over function. You focus on the function and yet your desire is for the form, the shape, the beauty of the form. For you can figure out the function, but the form is a mystery to you.

What shape will this become? You love to ask. The function begets the form, defines the form in your process. For the key must take a certain shape in order to perform its function. Yet you think first of the function, for the shape must be constrained by the function it performs.

Yet what function does that which is beautiful perform? For I designed your beloved first with beauty in mind. When I first thought of her, my intent was to make her gloriously beautiful. When you see her, what is it that goes through your mind?

I am dazzled by her beauty, by the glory revealed in her smile, I give no thought to her function. She is defined only by your glory. To be with her is glorious.

So will you allow me to define you?

For you were not designed to perform a function, when I thought of you, my only thought was “how glorious”.

For to me, being on edge, is to be in the place of definition, to be defined by glory.

You see it now don’t you… a tapestry, a collage, a slideshow, a snapshot, an imprint, an engraving upon your heart of all your fondest memories of your beloved. Images of my glory!

For it is easy for you to consider her glorious, yet it is hard for you to consider yourself that way.

Wherever she goes, you see her as I do, irresistible, beyond attraction, beyond attractive, you felt it so strongly at your party, where everyone was so attracted to her. For she is my best representation of love.

You are happy to bathe in her reflected glory, it is such a delight for you to be wed to her.

Yet what defines you? Have I not defined you? Have I not formed you? Was this not for my glory?

For you are not ordinary….

2 Corinthians 3:17-18 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (emancipation from bondage, freedom). And all of us, as with unveiled face, because we continued to behold in the Word of God as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord Who is the Spirit.
