Invulnerable

Press on.

Press on.

Just press on.

Press on it.

Apply pressure to it.

There you find yourself.

Here you find yourself.

The weight bearing.

The bearing of the weight.

Allow me.

Just allow me to bear.

Can I take your armour?

For you have no need of it.

There you are.

How is it your find yourself?

Flat on my back Out for the count. Counting down. Down but not out.

You can feel the impact.

Yet all that can be seen in this scene is the mighty warrior flat on his back.

They come a little closer.

Say to them “come a little closer.”

What is it they see?

The imprint of the weapon.

The impact of the weapon.

For the armour took the full force of the blow.

You feel the pain of it all.

For it weighs heavy upon your chest.

“Get it off me, just get it off me” you whisper.

Allow me.

Just allow me.

For you have no need of this.

1 Samuel 17:38-39 Then Saul clothed David with his armor; he put a bronze helmet on his head and clothed him with a coat of mail. And David girded his sword over his armor. Then he tried to go, but could not, for he was not used to it. And David said to Saul, I cannot go with these, for I am not used to them. And David took them off.

Have I not given you divine strength?

For that which is on the surface just weighs you down.

I am after what lies beneath.

Just expose yourself.

Seriously just expose yourself.

Let’s have a closer look.

Bruised and battered.

I can see the bruising.

I can see the impact.

Allow me to restore you.

And He touched me and made me whole.

In the place of your vulnerability.

In the place where your vulnerability is revealed.

Instead, in the place of vulnerability, my divine power is revealed.

At first the oil of joy.

Then the salve of soothing.

The soothing salve.

Just say ahhhh!

See there.

See there.

See there.

Have a look there.

What is it you see?

The reversal. The absence of impact. The lightness in the place of heaviness.

But wait, where is the weight?

But wait, in the absence of cover I have made you strong.

Watch and see.

What is it you see?

The attack of the enemy in the vulnerable place, the exposed place.

In that moment the weapon shatters. The point of opposition has no point, is pointless, has no power, is powerless.

Exposure.

Just expose yourself.

Seriously be exposed.

Can I come a little closer?

I just want to come a little closer!

Up close and personal.

Feel the warmth of my embrace.

Just let me hold you.

Let me wrap my arms around you.

Come out from cover.

Be not covered.

Be uncovered.

For your development is complete.

From the darkroom to the lightroom.

Be exposed.

For that which comes against you has no power.

Like the javelin made of powder. The appearance of power but really just powder!

When it moves it falls apart.

For I want to show the abject powerlessness of your enemy.

Jeremiah 1:17-19 “But you—up on your feet and get dressed for work! Stand up and say your piece. Say exactly what I tell you to say. Don’t pull your punches or I’ll pull you out of the lineup. “Stand at attention while I prepare you for your work. I’m making you as impregnable as a castle, Immovable as a steel post, solid as a concrete block wall. You’re a one-man defense system against this culture, Against Judah’s kings and princes, against the priests and local leaders. They’ll fight you, but they won’t even scratch you. I’ll back you up every inch of the way.” God’s Decree.

Seriously I’m cracking up.

Like the puny toddler attacking the giant with a paper sword.

You have got to laugh!

Burst forth with laughter.

For my joy is your strength.

Nehemiah 8:10 Then Ezra told them, Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet drink, and send portions to him for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. And be not grieved and depressed, for the joy of the Lord is your strength and stronghold.

Press on.

Press on the wash board.

Press on the water board.

Press upon the sharp edges.

Press upon that which grates.

Press upon that which grates against you.

Press upon that which greats against you.

For the water shall become the honey.

The grater shall become the honeycomb.

Press on.

For the damnation is damned.

That which held you back now propels you forward.

Rest your hand upon that which contains and watch me pour out.

For the dam is broken!

For I have broken it.

Breakthrough is here.

Luke 21:13-15 This will be a time (an opportunity) for you to bear testimony. Resolve and settle it in your minds not to meditate and prepare beforehand how you are to make your defense and how you will answer. For I Myself will give you a mouth and such utterance and wisdom that all of your foes combined will be unable to stand against or refute.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
