Inflamed

Inflamed

Shuttered.

Closed off.

Restricted.

Limited.

Battened down.

Wrapped up.

Chained.

Resistant.

The tension rises.

The feeling within.

The holding of yourself in.

The holding back.

Get a grip man!

What is it you are holding on to?

The rising within.

The unreleased power.

The breaking of the ground.

The excavation requires heavy equipment.

The peeling back.

The unwrapping.

The raw exposure.

Red raw.

Abrasively raw.

Irritation to the max.

The rubbing of that which is inflamed.

The pressing in to the wounds.

Inflammatory.

Yes that is it, inflammatory.

Inflamed.

For I have placed my flame in you.

It burns within.

It burns without.

Without it burns.

Like a walled garden.

SS 4:12 My sister, my bride, you are like a garden locked up. You are like a spring with a wall around it, a fountain that is closed.

So many words, so many feelings, so much pain.

Yet this is how I see it…

Song of Songs 4:12 My darling bride, my private paradise, fastened to my heart. A secret spring are you that no one else can have— my bubbling fountain hidden from public view. What a perfect partner to me now that I have you. Me too!

So much more to be said.

For this is the time of revelation.

This is the time of restoration.

Song of Songs 4:7-15 The Bridegroom-King Every part of you is so beautiful, my darling. Perfect is your beauty, without flaw within. Now you are ready, my bride, to come with me as we climb the highest peaks together. Come with me through the archway of trust. We will look down from the crest of the glistening mounts and from the summit of our sublime sanctuary. Together we will wage war in the lion’s den and the leopard’s lair as they watch nightly for their prey. For you reach into my heart. With one flash of your eyes I am undone by your love, my beloved, my equal, my bride. You leave me breathless— I am overcome by merely a glance from your worshiping eyes, for you have stolen my heart. I am held hostage by your love and by the graces of righteousness shining upon you. How satisfying to me, my equal, my bride. Your love is my finest wine—intoxicating and thrilling. And your sweet, perfumed praises—so exotic, so pleasing. Your loving words are like the honeycomb to me; your tongue releases milk and honey, for I find the Promised Land flowing within you. The fragrance of your worshiping love surrounds you with scented robes of white. My darling bride, my private paradise, fastened to my heart. A secret spring are you that no one else can have— my bubbling fountain hidden from public view. What a perfect partner to me now that I have you. Your inward life is now sprouting, bringing forth fruit. What a beautiful paradise unfolds within you. When I’m near you, I smell aromas of the finest spice, for many clusters of my exquisite fruit now grow within your inner garden. Here are the nine: pomegranates of passion, henna from heaven, spikenard so sweet, saffron shining, fragrant calamus from the cross, sacred cinnamon, branches of scented woods, myrrh, like tears from a tree, and aloe as eagles ascending. Your life flows into mine, pure as a garden spring. A well of living water springs up from within you, like a mountain brook flowing into my heart! The Shulamite Bride 4:16–5:1 Then may your awakening breath blow upon my life until I am fully yours. Breathe upon me with your Spirit wind. Stir up the sweet spice of your life within me. Spare nothing as you make me your fruitful garden. Hold nothing back until I release your fragrance. Come walk with me as you walked with Adam in your paradise garden. Come taste the fruits of your life in me. The Bridegroom-King I have come to you, my darling bride, for you are my paradise garden! The Shulamite Bride Come walk with me until I am fully yours. Come taste the fruits of your life in me.

So now you know.

The hidden revealed.

The sealed section, unsealed.

The hidden now manifest.

This is what life with me looks like.

You can feel it whelming up within you.

The uprising.

The time of the uprising.

Beyond friends.

Beyond the natural boundary.

Unlimited.

Without limit.

A bold expression of my desire.

For you have ravished my heart and given me courage

Compelled.

Propelled.

Unable to resist.

Irresistible.

For this is the time of the drawing.

This is the time to draw near.

Come closer.

It it safe to come closer.

Get up close and personal.

Here is my heart, come wound me with longing, let refiners fire come have its way fully.

Are you not so tired of the formalities?

Are you not so tired of the formula?

Are you not so tired of the pleasantries?

Are you not so tired of that which is so tiresome?

Beyond endurance.

For I am beyond your endurance.

I am pouring out by hope.

My hope overflows.

Like honey pouring down.

Sweet honey pouring down.

Dripping down upon you.

With reckless abandon I am pouring out my affection upon you.

You see it now, you feel it now.

Now you know how I like to express my desire.

It is time to break open the box.

It is time to break off all restraint.

It is time to put passion on display.

It is time to burst forth.

It is time to abandon all restraint.

Matthew 26:6 Then Jesus went to Bethany, to the home of Simon, a man Jesus had healed of leprosy. A woman came into the house, holding an alabaster flask filled with fragrant and expensive oil. She walked right up to Jesus, and in a lavish gesture of devotion, she poured out the costly oil, and it cascaded over his head as he was at the table.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
