Here’s Mud in Your Eye

Here’s Mud in Your Eye!

I see His fingers playing in the mud, like whipping cream, the mud is smooth and without roughage. It has soft peaks.

I feel like He is whipping up something, preparing it for use.

Here’s mud in your eye.

The enemy throws the mud, for he wants it to stick. For what is the use of mud? What is it’s purpose?

Personally I have always hated it! When I have come into contact with it, it irritated my skin, it felt repulsive. I couldn’t run fast enough to the tap to wash it off. And if it got in my eyes then it really messed me up and it took ages to get it out of my eyes.

For the enemy the purpose of the mud, is to get it in your eye, so your vision is cut off, or blurred, or distorted.

Yet for God, his purpose in the mud is to bring growth, to bring vision, to open our eyes to the possibilities, to enable to see what we could not before.

Isaiah 32:20 Happy and fortunate are you who cast your seed upon all waters [when the river overflows its banks; for the seed will sink into the mud and when the waters subside, the plant will spring up; you will find it after many days and reap an abundant harvest], you who safely send forth the ox and the donkey [to range freely]. Whose finger is in the mud? I Mine! My hand is upon it, my seed is in it, my purpose is in the mud. What is it you fear? What are you afraid of? For I use what you fear to bring forth, to bring forth sight, to bring forth growth, to bring forth dominion. Receive by faith my gift! Do not withdraw, do not cringe, do not squint. Let me touch your eyes again. Let me use what you fear to restore your sight. For your eyes are failing, your vision is blurred, you sense a faintness coming on, you feel the meltdown, you see the loss. For the one who is light, applies that which is dark, to remove the darkness and bring forth light. I want to see the twinkle in your eye, the smile on your dial. The pain shall be no more before your eyes… John 9:5-7 As long as I am in the world, I am the world’s Light. When He had said this, He spat on the ground and made clay (mud) with His saliva, and He spread it [as ointment] on the man’s eyes. And He said to him, Go, wash in the Pool of Siloam—which means Sent. So he went and washed, and came back seeing. Be joy, be joyful, be at peace, be light, be lightened, be radiant, shine! Isaiah 60:1-5 ARISE [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you—rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you! For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and dense darkness [all] peoples, but the Lord shall arise upon you, and His glory shall be seen on you. And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. Lift up your eyes round about you and see! They all gather themselves together, they come to you. Your sons shall come from afar, and your daughters shall be carried and nursed in the arms. Then you shall see and be radiant, and your heart shall thrill and tremble with joy [at the glorious deliverance] and be enlarged; because the abundant wealth of the [Dead]Sea shall be turned to you, unto you shall the nations come with their treasures. Here’s mud in your eye!

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
