Good Grief

Good Grief

Good grief!

Good grief.

There is goodness in the grief.

There is shock and awe in the grief.

There is un expectation in the grief.

There is gain to be obtained in the grief.

For in the loss there is gain.

For the loss of the old is an indication of the gain of the new.

I am doing a swap.

New for old.

For you can no longer hold on to the old.

For the old is over and gone.

For the old has departed and is no more.

So goodbye to the old.

Literally waive good bye to the old.

For you shall hold it no more.

For you cannot hold that which has departed.

Try as you might, try with all your might you cannot find it.

For that which is gone cannot be found.

For that which is coming is yet to be discovered.

Why mourn the old, why entertain the old, why go looking for the old, when the new has come.

For you look upon the old with such joy.

You want to stay in that moment, you want to be captive to that moment, you want to never let go of that moment.

A burst of joy, a snapshot of delight, the picture of joy, captured by joy.

Be captivated not captive.

Fascinated from afar, hesitant up close, unsure of yourself.

Captured by her glory, drawn by her glory, you want to hold her and never let go.

The warmth and tenderness of her love, the great joy that comes from the radiance of her face.

Is she not ravishing? Is she not soothing, is her voice not like that of an angel?

For it is such a delight to come away with her!

“I might make a scene tonight, I have got to let it wild, be like just a child”

“I have got a love on fire”

For you love to make a scene with her, love the public display of affection.

For you love, your love, your beloved, the love that you share.

But how will you handle my public display of affection?

Now don’t be shy.

Now don’t be shy.

Now don’t be shy.

For you don’t want me to make a scene.

You love everything about the one I have given you to love, her presence, her voice, her shape, her form, her desire, her posture, her position, her grace, her elegance.

You welcome my gift of love, my affection.

Yet you have locked yourself away, you have hidden yourself, you have closed yourself in, you have battened down the hatches, for you feel so beaten and battered by the waves of the storm that beat upon your chest.

For you have endured much, yet you know what comes at the end of endurance?

Hope and hope makes not ashamed.

Yes ….

For it is time, for this is the time of the scene.

Let me set the scene.

Lavished with such love and affection, such extravagant extravagance, that it will be uncomfortable for so many to watch.

You talk of the pampering of the precious, yet you hide the love and affection I have for you.

You want to push me away in public.

You don’t want to make a scene.

You have bought in to, you have purchased the lie “you made people feel uncomfortable when you ran the group”

Well this is a blatant lie.

I made them feel uncomfortable!

I am the one responsible for that.

I take responsibility for that.

It was my fault.

For I could not hold myself back.

“For I just want to be with you, I am lost in your mystery, I am found in your love for me.”

For I am not uncomfortable with my love for you.

I made a public display of my affection for you upon the cross.

A spectacle for all to see.

You saw it up close, my face smiling with such radiant affection for you, it was like the sun shining. My glory on display.

So take this burden off your shoulders and receive my love.

For you are not shy about your love for your beloved.

Yet you are shy about my love for you.

Receive my love, show off my love, don’t hold me back, for you wont be embarrassed, for I want to make a public display of my affection.

For some will say “Good grief”, others will bathe in the warm glow of my love, others will enjoy the demonstration of intimacy and my love on display.

It is time to break out, to put aside the old, for the past is over and gone, the new has come.

Jeremiah 33:9-14 And shall be to Me a name of joy, a praise and a glory before all the nations of the earth that hear of all the good I do for it, and they shall fear and tremble because of all the good and all the peace, prosperity, security, and stability I provide for it. Thus says the Lord: Yet again there shall be heard in this place of which you say, It is a desolate waste, without man and without beast—even in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem that are desolate, without man and without inhabitant and without beast— [There shall be heard again] the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voices of those who sing as they bring sacrifices of thanksgiving into the house of the Lord, Give praise and thanks to the Lord of hosts, for the Lord is good; for His mercy and kindness and steadfast love endure forever! For I will cause the captivity of the land to be reversed and return to be as it was at first, says the Lord. Thus says the Lord of hosts: In this place which is desolate, without man and without beast, and in all its cities, there shall again be dwellings and pastures of shepherds resting their flocks. In the cities of the hill country, in the cities of the lowland, in the cities of the South (the Negeb), in the land of Benjamin, in the places around Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah shall flocks pass again under the hands of him who counts them, says the Lord. Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will fulfill the good promise I have made to the house of Israel and the house of Judah.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
