From whence have you come?
For from so many you have wanted to hear the words “what’s your story?”
For it is a question that has formed on your lips so many times.
You enquire of their background, their experience, their life story.
For men you hear all about the work they have done, but this just masked their real life experience.
For women you hear all about their relationships, how they relate, and their children if they have any. For you this is so interesting, so full of mystery.
Yet few have asked “What’s your story”
If they asked you what would you say?
I don’t know where to start.
Well let me tell your story.
Let me take you back to the start.
Song of Songs 3:4 I had gone but a little way past them when I found him whom my soul loves. I held him and would not let him go until I had brought him into my mother’s house, and into the chamber of her who conceived me.
I had gone but a little way past when I found him whom my soul loves.
I was there at the beginning, at the point of conception.
Amidst all the pain, the crying, the perversion of intimacy, the shame, the abject evil, the conception of the light in the place of great darkness.
A moment of intense pleasure, of great intimacy, an expression of my desire.
Not named after sorrow.
Genesis 35:16-18 And they journeyed from Bethel and had but a little way to go to Ephrath Bethlehem when Rachel suffered the pangs of childbirth and had hard labor. When she was in hard labor, the midwife said to her, Do not be afraid; you shall have this son also. And as her soul was departing, for she died, she called his name Ben-oni son of my sorrow; but his father called him Benjamin son of the right hand.
For your name was a prophetic word, defining the future not the past. Uttered from the lips of your mother.
One who fights on behalf of me, one who fights on my behalf, the great overcomers, the burst of light in the darkness.
Yet defined by my desire.
“Your waiting to be found”
At the moment of your birth, I birthed freedom in your house. In the place of the chains, in the place of confinement, I released freedom.
“Freedom is here now”
Yes that is right, don’t you love how I time the words of the song so well.
For how is freedom best demonstrated?
The breaking of chains
You have spoken well, freedom bursts forth in the place of captivity.
For the enemy seeks to take freedom captive, and yet when freedom breaks free evil is defeated.
“It is time to break free and get up and dance”
I know how much you hate that song, but you know more than most what it is like to break free.
For the room shook, the enemy scattered, freedom was released.
For I know you have been restraining yourself, holding yourself back. Just like you were literally held down on that day, a day of definition, a defining day, a day of breakthrough, a breaking of the chains.
For you know how I see you.
Wed to the breaker, the author of breakthrough.
You see it now don’t you?
Handed over by those held captive, released to the captors in order to spare their souls.
Led away captive, given into their hands, bound….
Yet you feel it now don’t you, for your hand shakes with my power.
“This moment I’m taking, I’m not holding back”
You see and observe the captivity all around, you feel weary of the battle, yet you are weary of holding back.
Yes you are weary from the strain of holding back.
Through you I will wreak havoc on the enemy, there shall be great confusion all around, a great spectacle.
For you were not born to be “normal”.
You heard someone say to your friend “we all start shaking in some way at the start, but then when you really get to know God, a great calm comes upon you and the shaking will subside”
This is a lie, yes this is a lie, for I have anointed and appointed you to shake things up, to break the chains of protocol, to disturb that which disturbs you.
Have I not ordered your steps?
You did not get here by accident.
You were born for such a time as this.
You look back and say “I have lived many lives”, yet I look forward and see a great disturbance.
Yes a great disturbance, for through you I will disturb and disrupt, I will cause a great dismay to come upon the face of those who oppose you.
For there can be no turning back.
For a great uprising is coming, a time where the tide has turned, where I will be glorified in you.
Micah 7:7-11 But as for me, I will look to the Lord and confident in Him I will keep watch; I will wait with hope and expectancy for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me. Rejoice not against me, O my enemy! When I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light to me. I will bear the indignation of the Lord because I have sinned against Him, until He pleads my cause and executes judgment for me. He will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold His righteous deliverance. Then my enemy will see it, and shame will cover her who said to me, Where is the Lord your God? My eyes will see my desire upon her; now she will be trodden down as the mire of the streets. In the day that your walls are to be built a day for building, in that day shall the boundary of Israel be far extended and the decree against her be far removed.
Raise your expectation, for I have given you the strength of Samson, the confidence of Samson.
Test me in this, be released, release your grip, abandon all restraint, throw off restraint.
Look out for freedom, say to the enemy “look out, freedom is here!”
“I believe what you say of me”
