Engaged

Engaged

I’m not disengaged.

When you call, I answer and I come to your rescue.

Psalm 4.1 ANSWER ME when I call, O God of my righteousness (uprightness, justice, and right standing with You)! You have freed me when I was hemmed in and enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me and hear my prayer. Isaiah 65:24 And it shall be that before they call I will answer; and while they are yet speaking I will hear.

Open your mouth wide that I may fill it.

Psalms 81:10 I am the Lord your God, Who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.

Calling. What is your calling? Whose calling? Why won’t you call?

Pick up the phone!

Job 14:14-15 If a man dies, shall he live again? All the days of my warfare and service I will wait, till my change and release shall come. You would call and I would answer You; You would yearn for the work of Your hands.

I am engaged, I am busy, I’m on the line!

I am your betrothed. I am more than engaged!

2 Corinthians 11:2-3 For I am zealous for you with a godly eagerness and a divine jealousy, for I have betrothed you to one Husband, to present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But [now] I am fearful, lest that even as the serpent beguiled Eve by his cunning, so your minds may be corrupted and seduced from wholehearted and sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

Do not be overcome. I command it! For I am teaching you how to overcome!

Jeremiah 1:17 But you [Jeremiah], gird up your loins! Arise and tell them all that I command you. Do not be dismayed and break down at the sight of their faces, lest I confound you before them and permit you to be overcome. 1 Samuel 17:9 If he is able to fight and kill me, we will become your subjects; but if I overcome him and kill him, you will become our subjects and serve us.”

Listen!

I want to propose something. I want to propose. I want to propose joy!

Joy like when you first proposed.

Smile. Open your mouth wide!

Be uplifted. Be lifted up! Do not be weighed down.

Will you abandon your life, you plans and wed yourself to me?

Hold on to my plan. Hold fast to me. Hold my hand. Come with me. It is going to be awesome!

We are engaged.

There will be a beckoning. Beckon us to come. If it is you Lord bid us to come.

Matthew 14:27-29 But instantly He spoke to them, saying, Take courage! I AM! Stop being afraid! And Peter answered Him, Lord, if it is You, BID [command] me to come to You on the water. He said, Come! So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water, and he came toward Jesus.

The will be a bidding, many will “bid” for you to come.

You shall be engaged to many. Long shall be the term of your engagement.

This is your last contraction, oh the pain, the excruciating pain. Do not faint now, but push with all your might!

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
