Engaged

Engaged

Can I not just take another call?

When they call, can I not just be engaged?

I am so tired of the drama.

Can I not just disconnect from the call?

My body hurts, my soul aches, my emotions are bruised and battered.

Yet I cannot hang up!

Yet I cannot hang up!

Everything is so turned up to eleven.

When I awake I am so tired from the pain of the night.

Isaiah 54:1-5 SING, O barren one, you who did not bear; break forth into singing and cry aloud, you who did not travail with child! For the [spiritual] children of the desolate one will be more than the children of the married wife, says the Lord. Enlarge the place of your tent, and let the curtains of your habitations be stretched out; spare not; lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes, For you will spread abroad to the right hand and to the left; and your offspring will possess the nations and make the desolate cities to be inhabited. Fear not, for you shall not be ashamed; neither be confounded and depressed, for you shall not be put to shame. For you shall forget the shame of your youth, and you shall not [seriously] remember the reproach of your widowhood any more. For your Maker is your Husband—the Lord of hosts is His name—and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; the God of the whole earth He is called.

The pressure so constant, where is the relief, where is the reprieve?

Yet I have called you. I have chosen you to overcome. To break out, to burst forth, to push back the line, the perimeter, the boundary. To claim new territory, to break open the hollow place. To crush all that is broken. To restore the fortunes of many.

I feel the restless in my spirit.

The agitation, the shaking, the movement, the pregnant pause.

Yes that is the word, the pregnant pause. The place between conception and birth. On the brink, on the verge. For that which is to come is almost here.

I woke up with a start, an imprint of such a vivid picture.

My fingers tracing the edge of the raging fire. Then your word at once in my ear.

Press in!

Then at once my fingers pushed into the flame, sparks flying all around. Yet amidst the fire I felt, no heat, no hurt, no pain, no impact.

I said press in, not press on. Press in, not on!

At once I felt great pressure being applied to that which was so hard.

Then a great imprint was made in the place of fire.

For that which comes against you, shall have no impact upon you. The pressure is just a sign of what is to come. A symptom of the birthing process. Align your hearing. Align your feelings. What is it you hear?

The sound of a crying baby!

For that which was to come, now comes. For I have heard the cry of your heart. Be still and know. For in the stillness I am still here. For in quietness and confidence shall be your strength. In the quietness and stillness what is it you see?

Your breath, in the coolness, in the quietness, in the stillness, your breath is exposed.

Just take a breath. For what does the midwife say to the pregnant woman?

Breathe!

What other instruction is given?

Push!

Yes for the pressure comes to assist with the pushing, with the contraction, comes the expansion. The pressing in, leads to the pushing out. For the head is engaged. For the head is engaged. For the head is engaged. The time of birth has come. Look out. For your were expecting, now look for more than you expected, for all shall say, that was unexpected. Get ready for something new. The birth of all that was promised. Yet this is my handiwork, evidence of my handiwork, more that you expected, so much more than you expected. Beyond expectation. Beyond reason. Beyond logic. Beyond all that you could expect. For you will know. For you will know. For you will just know. You will experience what is it to know. The results of knowing. The manifestation of the knowing. The evidence of what is not seen. The display of my conception my union, my favour, my blessing. Isaiah 54:10-14 For though the mountains should depart and the hills be shaken or removed, yet My love and kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace and completeness be removed, says the Lord, Who has compassion on you. O you afflicted [city], storm-tossed and not comforted, behold, I will set your stones in fair colors [in antimony to enhance their brilliance] and lay your foundations with sapphires. And I will make your windows and pinnacles of [sparkling] agates or rubies, and your gates of [shining] carbuncles, and all your walls [of your enclosures] of precious stones. And all your [spiritual] children shall be disciples [taught by the Lord and obedient to His will], and great shall be the peace and undisturbed composure of your children. You shall establish yourself in righteousness (rightness, in conformity with God’s will and order): you shall be far from even the thought of oppression or destruction, for you shall not fear, and from terror, for it shall not come near you.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
