Emergence

From the depths it emerges.

For that which is submerged must emerge.

For when that which is submerged emerges.

For you it looks like a fountain emerging from the overflow. But as you place your hand upon the edge of the flow you feel the substance that lies beneath.

For they know not what lies beneath the surface.

For when the flood waters subside the harvest is revealed.

For when you cast your seed into the muddied waters you expect to find the seed when the waters subside. But instead you shall find a giant tree.

You expect the seed to be distorted by the environment it grows within.

For the seaweed grows in the water, but the tree grows upon the land.

Yet when the rain comes the strength of the tree is tested. The edge of the leaves remains strong. For the pine tree is designed to maintain the edge despite that which rains upon it.

For when the harvest emerges.

For when the waters subside you expect that the seed is lost in the torrent, destroyed by that which rages against it.

All you have felt is the sinking feeling.

For when the seed sinks into the mud, you expect the loss, you anticipate the loss.

You say unto yourself “what was the point of that, for the expert farmer knows to first plough the soil, then lay the seed, and then water it, for is this not the normal way”.

And yet I am out of order.

Cast the seed into the flood, for it shall not be washed away.

For it sinks into the mud, not lost in the mud, not a futile effort but a fertile effort.

For I have hidden your seed in the midst of the flood, awash with the raging torrent, yet I have hidden it in the mud.

Yet you shall find it after many days.

It shall be uncovered by you. It shall be where it was laid by you. Not at great discovery, but a recovery of that which you deposited.

For as the farmer deposits the seed and then waters it, and returns to it months later expecting a harvest, you shall return to the place of your deposit and reap a harvest.

Yet it emerges as a harvest. Fully grown. Unexpected growth.

For I am out of order.

For you expect if you are fortunate to find the remnants of the seed, or to find it sprouting, but in the place of the submergence there shall be an emergence.

You await the small sprouting, and yet you shall find the mature tree.

For the harvest emerges before you.

For in the place of subsidence, your harvest shall emerge.

For I am working under the surface.

And yet that which emerges shall possess more than you expect. The tree decorated with dazzlingly bright fruit.

And yet you see the flood subsiding and the harvest rising, and yet the rain falls upon that which rises. Washing over the edge, washing the mud from the edge, revealing the edge.

Isaiah 32:15
Until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is valued as a forest.
Isaiah 32:20
Happy and fortunate are you who cast your seed upon all waters [when the river overflows its banks; for the seed will sink into the mud and when the waters subside, the plant will spring up; you will find it after many days and reap an abundant harvest], you who safely send forth the ox and the donkey [to range freely].

A multitude is coming against you in order to bring forth multiplication.

Do not be dismayed.

2 Chronicles 20:17
You shall not need to fight in this battle; take your positions, stand still, and see the deliverance of the Lord [Who is] with you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Fear not nor be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.

“The supply chains are open”

“The Lord had made them rejoice over their enemies.”

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
