Embrace
The Opening…
The Grand Opening…
For it opens before you.
As you walk it opens before you.
Behold an open door…
Here, let me open it for you.
Allow me to open it for you.
For it shall open for you.
Revelation 3:7-8 And to the angel (messenger) of the assembly (church) in Philadelphia write: These are the words of the Holy One, the True One, He Who has the key of David, Who opens and no one shall shut, Who shuts and no one shall open: I know your record of works and what you are doing. See! I have set before you a door wide open which no one is able to shut; I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept My Word and guarded My message and have not renounced or denied My name.
Be open to that which opens before you.
Embrace that which you cannot grasp.
Grasp that which you cannot embrace.
For how awkward is it to embrace someone who has their arms crossed.
For to feel the warmth of the embrace you must be open.
Be unrestrained, unconstrained, do not restrain yourself, be open to that which opens before you.
For the open one, embraces another who is open.
Be open to that which opens before you.
For the embrace feels awkward at first.
How awkward was it to embrace the one you love the most!
I remember the setup now. It was such a setup. For I had never embraced a girl before. It was a new thing, a foreign thing, a strange thing. I felt so awkward. My emotions were so mixed up. As everyone was doing it, I would surely offend if I didn’t. I didn’t want to come too close as the attraction was like nothing I had felt before.
Sorry, not sorry!
I know it was such a setup.
I know I set you up.
First, I had planned it first.
The location was so perfect.
The preparation much better than you expected. The job from hell that gave you muscles from heaven.
Second, the timing, the connection, the look. For you shall have regard for that which I regard.
It was unexpected, unplanned, a surprise for you.
There she was right before your eyes, a perfect picture of such great beauty.
You could not believe your eyes. Yet there was so much more. For she also had regard for you, she looked upon you.
Behold the look of love.
For my love looked upon you.
Then the opportunity to embrace that which could barely grasp.
For I had blown your mind, you could not imagine….
“How can it be….”
“You break my chains….”
“You say that I am free”
You felt so awkward, for you did not know what to do.
Your embrace was distant, lest you lost all control. In your heart you would have cancelled all your plans, just to spend time with her, but in your head you told yourself to keep your distance until you had more context.
Even now your greatest joy is to spend time with her, to embrace all that you cannot grasp.
The love of mystery, the mystery of love.
Song of Songs 5:1-2 I HAVE come into my garden, my sister, my promised bride; I have gathered my myrrh with my balsam and spice from your sweet words I have gathered the richest perfumes and spices. I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk. Eat, O friends feast on, O revelers of the palace; you can never make my lover disloyal to me! Drink, yes, drink abundantly of love, O precious one for now I know you are mine, irrevocably mine! With his confident words still thrilling her heart, through the lattice she saw her shepherd turn away and disappear into the night. I went to sleep, but my heart stayed awake. I dreamed that I heard the voice of my beloved as he knocked at the door of my mother’s cottage. Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my spotless one he said, for I am wet with the heavy night dew; my hair is covered with it.
Once again I am setting you up.
For that which is before you is open. Embrace that which you cannot grasp.
For I am establishing connection.
New connections, blessed connections.
For I am holding your hand, and I hold the hand of the one who holds your hand.
