Disturbance

Disturbance

Disturbance. Agitation. Tremble in my presence…

A trembling. A shaking. A tremor. A ripple in the ground.

The ground moves under my feet. It shakes in my presence. You can feel my presence. You can feel me coming. The room shakes as I approach. You feel the shaking, you wonder what is going on! The walls vibrate. The circumstance shakes. The earth announces my arrival.

The unexpected agitation. The noise. The tremor. This is not my usual approach. This is not the pitter patter of my feet. This is not the floating above it all. For I am shaking it up on purpose.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]

I’m not sneaking up on the enemy. I’m announcing my arrival.

I’m carrying that which is heavy.

The fire, the wind, the earthquake announces my presence. But when I speak. It is the voice of stillness. The still small voice.

1 Kings 19:11-12 And He said, Go out and stand on the mount before the Lord. And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire [a sound of gentle stillness and] a still, small voice.

My arrival levels the path. Shaken like flour in the thing that contains it. Give it a shake and it becomes level. It is smooth. The steep peaks become plains.

All around will be shaken. But you cannot be shaken. For you shall be established. You way is set. Your going is set. You are all set.

Isaiah 54:10 For though the mountains should depart and the hills be shaken or removed, yet My love and kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace and completeness be removed, says the Lord, Who has compassion on you.

Remain firm in the place of the shaking. Be not moved, as I move. Stay the course, for I have established your path.

Your foot shall not slip. Your way is made. There shall be no deviation. This is the established way. This is MY WAY! There is no other course. Hold fast to my word.

Luke 24:36-38 Now while they were talking about this, Jesus Himself took His stand among them and said to them, Peace (freedom from all the distresses that are experienced as the result of sin) be to you! But they were so startled and terrified that they thought they saw a spirit. And He said to them, Why are you disturbed and troubled, and why do such doubts and questionings arise in your hearts?

For I am coming to your house!

Repeat after me “It is well”

Take a seat, don’t get up. Make yourself comfortable. Let me attend to it. Let me make myself at home. Let me pour you a drink. Just relax in my presence. I’ve got this covered. I’m paying for this one. Worry not what you shall say, for I shall speak on your behalf!

Raise your glass in celebration. Say cheers!

I have prepared for this moment. I have appointed you for this appointment. The king shall ride out in righteousness and humility with His sword by his side. I have established this ride, this going out.

Psalms 45:3-4 Gird Your sword upon Your thigh, O mighty One, in Your glory and Your majesty! And in Your majesty ride on triumphantly for the cause of truth, humility, and righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God); and let Your right hand guide You to tremendous things.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
