Disruptive Contentment

Seriously! Just be content.

What’s with the contention!

Did I not say I am contending with your contention so that you might be content!

Let me say it another way…

Be content so that you will experience contentment. For contentment is the absence of contention.

From your contentment shall come the absence of contention.

For you wrestle with yourself. You contend with yourself. You annoy yourself. Just stop it!

Philippians 4:11-14 Not that I am implying that I was in any personal want, for I have learned how to be content (satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or disquieted) in whatever state I am. I know how to be abased and live humbly in straitened circumstances, and I know also how to enjoy plenty and live in abundance. I have learned in any and all circumstances the secret of facing every situation, whether well-fed or going hungry, having a sufficiency and enough to spare or going without and being in want. I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency. But it was right and commendable and noble of you to contribute for my needs and to share my difficulties with me.

For I am mixing it up.

What have you got to fight for, that I have not already given you?

I did not say fight for the land so that your may possess it. I said pace it out, for wherever you walk I am giving it to you. For you are not trespassing. For this is my land, and I have made the eviction order!

Just come into order.

Just be free of it.

Yet even more declare freedom over the land.

Here is my antidote for contention.

2 parts faith, 3 parts confidence, and a big dose of exuberance. For how can you be contentious when you are laughing so much!

Take a chill pill, even better a stillness pill, take a breath, breathe in my peace, breathe in my calm, breathe out my peace.

John 3:27 John answered, A man can receive nothing he can claim nothing, he can take unto himself nothing except as it has been granted to him from heaven. A man must be content to receive the gift which is given him from heaven; there is no other source.

That’s it. Don’t you feel better already!

For I am disrupting disruption, displacing displacement, resisting resistance.

Turbulent disruption, disruptive turbulence – what will you choose?

For the water flows against the rock, it moves against that which is immovable.

The rock stands firm, in place, in its place. It performs its function, yet it is transformed by the flow.

The turbulence causes the rough to become smooth, the edges to be refined.

It makes a pretty picture, the streams flowing over the rocks.

I maintain the balance. For the land slide impedes the flow. Yet without the rock, the flow is unchecked and floods all around, overwhelms all around.

Yet I am disrupting disruption, I am contending with disruption, for the flow purpose is to soothe, to smooth, to nourish, to refine, to transform, to restore. For without the flow there is no life.

Bring life, carry life, restore life, go with my flow.

Yet I have given you disruptive content, to disrupt established patterns, to break that which contains, to go overboard, to go over the limit, to go beyond limitation, to release potential, to overflow with capacity, to breach the containment lines, to break that which contains.

Yet be not disrupted, for you carry my flow. It is the oil of joy that soothes and smooths.

Within calming, without refreshing.

For my oil is poured out in greatest measure, on the wounded, injured and afflicted.

Go with my flow, be refreshed by my flow, for you possess my flow.

Say ahhhhhh!

Isaiah 28:16 Therefore thus says the Lord God, Behold, I am laying in Zion for a foundation a Stone, a tested Stone, a precious Cornerstone of sure foundation; he who believes (trusts in, relies on, and adheres to that Stone) will not be ashamed or give way or hasten away in sudden panic.

For this discomfort you feel shall pass, let go of the old patterns and align yourself with the new.

For you know that you shall look back in astonishment at my transforming power. Hold on to the new thing that you cannot grasp. The stream flowing in the barren place.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
