Defining Moments
What defines you?
The love of my beloved. Grace upon grace poured out so richly, beyond anything I could deserve. “To have and to hold from this day forward” – my favourite words.
This is what freedom feels like, the chains broken, the heaviness lifted, the tension released.
To receive my grace is to receive freedom.
For I long to be gracious towards you, to give the gift of grace. For it is without merit, you cannot earn it, you cannot deserve it, you cannot buy it, you cannot control it, you cannot measure it, you cannot limit it, it cannot be withheld, only extended.
It came out of the blue, it was not expected, it was a surprise. At first hesitant, uncertain, yet you could not resist her touch.
How do you feel? What is it like to be released, what is it like?
Loved beyond measure, accepted regardless and yet with regard, useful, released for purpose, unbound, unrestrained, beyond limit, reckless, free, beyond boundary, like I want to run in the field bursting forth with unbridled joy. I feel strong and immovable and unbrakeable, supremely confident, a mighty ruler, the king not because I have a kingdom, but because my Queen loves me.
Is this not my design, is this not on purpose?
For I have given you great strength, mighty power, agility, efficiency and sufficiency.
For by your hand I shall drive out the enemy.
Let me say that again by YOUR hand I shall drive out the enemy across the land.
For I have already overcome, your hand shakes at my word. For I have torn up the enemies plan, they look for one, but their plans lie before them in tatters.
Yet this victory means nothing to you as you only have eyes for her. Your joy reflects hers.
For I have joined you together, joy multiplied, an outpouring of my joy – my purpose.
Receive my joy, multiply my joy, this is the blessing I command, this is my byproduct of unity.
You pause and wonder what does all this mean.
You pause and wonder what expectation to have.
Yet just pause IN wonder.
For is this not the time of wonder.
For this is true “it shall be blooming wonder full”
Words uttered from the lips of your beloved.
Song of Songs 2:10-17 My beloved speaks and says to me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. For, behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. The fig tree puts forth and ripens her green figs, and the vines are in blossom and give forth their fragrance.Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away. So I went with him, and when we were climbing the rocky steps up the hillside, my beloved shepherd said to me O my dove, while you are here in the seclusion of the clefts in the solid rock, in the sheltered and secret place of the cliff, let me see your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely. My heart was touched and I fervently sang to him my desire Take for us the foxes, thelittle foxes that spoil the vineyards of our love, for our vineyards are in blossom. She said distinctly My beloved is mine and I am his! He pastures his flocks among the lilies. Then, longingly addressing her absent shepherd, she cried Until the day breaks and the shadows flee away, return hastily, O my beloved, and be like a gazelle or a young hart as you cover the mountains which separate us.
